Or neither?

I want to work up a load with 52 grain Amax's but needless to say they're out of stock everywhere. I have read that the Zmax's are the same bullet just different color. Several sites state that the Zmax is the same as the Vmax but it appears on Hornady's site that the AMP Jacket technology is used on the Zmax and not the Vmax...[hammer]

Long story short, anybody know if they're just a marketed version of one of their other bullets or if they are their own separate animal? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the quick response, it was just the marketing -or lack therof- of their AMP Jacket that mislead me...Now, my search for the Amax continues. [Beer]

Did you find some Zmax bullets in stock somewhere? Been looking for the Vmax but can't seem to find them.

Sportsman's had em off of 84th. But they receive there shipments in on Friday afternoons. So you have to be there early 1st thing Saturday to get em.

It depends on the caliber.

The Z-Max are either A-Max, V-Max, or TAP (with a green tip instead of Hornady signature orange) depending on the caliber. For an AR they are V-Max.

Walmart in Parker was getting the Vmax in somewhat regularly, that is where I picked them up. I can't find a single 52 grain Amax anywhere though. I put an ad in the wanted forum looking to buy or trade for Vmax's but I think it was on page 3 by the end of the day [Coffee].
