I am interested in joining one of the shoots. I am not sure which is closer to Golden, CO north or south since I don't know the locations. I read the rules but I am still not sure of a few things:
What type of targets are you allowed to shoot? (I have a truck and take out anything I bring in)
Are there restriction to any type of firearm? (I am aware of no auto without license and no tracers)
Do you have to be a full member to attend shoots or is this for any elligible member of the community?

Your a member of the board therefore you are already a member of the "club".;) Don't bring targets that make a mess such as computers or anything made of glass ect.

The only firearms not allowed are illegal ones if it is legal bring it. Show up with a GE minigun if you like as long as you have paper work for it.

The south shoot is closer than the north if you live in golden I take 285 to 126 and it is about 60 miles from c470 and 285. 126 turns into 67 once you go past deckers between mile marker 88 and 89 there is a stop sign on the west side of the road turn there.

I am still thinking about going if I decide to go you can always follow me.

HunterCO,

How far from Buffalo Creek is the south shooting location? I have not been there yet. The north is closer for me.

Just for fun, I mapquested both shooting sights from 6th ave. and Hwy 93. Putting the north shoot at Hwy 72 and Hwy 7, it is (estimated to be) 53.83 miles, and 1 hour 13 minutes away. The south shooting location, starting at the same place and going to Buffalo Creek, is (estimated) at 37.99 miles, and 51 minutes away. Didn't know the south shoot was that close.

regnet_65,
Try the south shoot one month, then the north shoot the next. Couldn't hurt. You want to find as many places to shoot as you can.......right?

Or you don't have to wait until a shoot. These places are ALWAYS open. [UZI]

Your numbers are probably a bit off. The south shoot location is about halfway between Deckers and Woodland Park.

This is the south shoot site.

I think someone was shooting when the satellite went over.

The south shoot spot is 25 miles past buffalo creek. You live farther north than I do from my door step the south site is 62 miles and the north is 73.

I like the south better because boulder traffic sucks really bad coming home. I usually take 72 into the nederlands and 119 to golden gate canyon, to come home 93 I have to deal with bumper to bumper in boulder. Takeing that route makes it about 20 miles farther but it beats dealing with the traffic jam in boulder.

Also the south shoot I can pull up and set up not make several trips to my truck hauling everything up the hill. Then do the same thing to go home.

I believe I will be there.

Anyone going North this month?

And I gotta agree with HunterCO, the South site is more convenient as far as gear is concerned. Parking and hauling your stuff up at the North site is a pain in the butt. From here in Westminster, it's about 1.5 hours while the North site is only about 1 hour, that's the trade off.

25 miles past Buffalo Creek.
Well that sure changes the numbers doesn't it.
Hey, I was guessing. LOL

I agree that if you drive down through Boulder, that SUCKS. But since Nederland is basically in my back yard, once I get on 119/72, I take it all the way there. Takes me a little under an hour.

Being able to pull the car up and unload SURE SOUNDS GOOD though. I get REAL tired of carrying things back and forth. It may just be worth it to go to the south location, just for that reason. That is, if I'm not shoot'n a match that day. Like this Sat.

Y'all have fun now.
