I believe you need to do a trigger swap, IE lighter Lbs. trigger. They do work though.

I wish I'd never seen this thread. That led me to find the homemade slidefire setup on that *other* site. Considering I have everything out in the shop to make one, all I need now is a .22 upper.[Bang]

As noted, the plastic M&P15-22 is light enough to work with a slide fire and no other modifications.

To get a slidefire to work with a 22 kit or dedicated upper in a real AR, you need to get a very light match trigger and tune it juuuuuust right. I've seen recommendations for the Jard adjustable trigger, with reported pull weights a bit over a pound when it's running right with the slidefire.
