So I was been a pro-life, pro-gun, anti-gov't terrorist as I always am on facebook. I mentioned how the US is a law ruled country, not a people ruled country and the Constitution is not biased unlike some eggheads in DC.

then I got a reply:

"A cluster of cells is not a child, therefore stopping the development of them isn't murder (unless you're the type of person who also thinks that masturbation is murder). And it's a little disturbing to treat the bill of rights like the bible or something similar. Laws are meant to be changed, that's how society progresses. Everyone freaks out when they hear things about 'weapons of mass destruction' but some people don't even think twice about automatic assault rifles that can be easily purchased by anyone and everyone. People like to think that guns are good for protection but why do you need to kill someone to protect yourself? Why not just use a tranquilizer gun or something not deadly?"

I just want to hear what you guys will say to this person.

I tend to be a bit liberal on some social issue so my answers may be a bit different,

ending a pregnancy is a personal decision. I personally made the decision to have my children you will have to live with any decision you make to the contrary. I would support their decision not to have a child if they cannot love and support it.

The bill of rights is not a bible, it outlines the founding principles of our country based upon the founding fathers understandings of the failures of the goverment they had endured and prevailed against. they understood that without these protections the possibilities of our government to inflict the same atrocities on its people were greatly increased. Without the gun you would be speaking the kings english at the best and German or Japanese at the worst. In our very near future the ability for this country to defend itself against the influx of muslims may very well depend on your neighbors ability to defend his home and possibly yours.

The bill of rights are not laws they are priciple that insure our ability to protect our freedoms and they were never meant to be changed.

A weapon of mass destruction does not have any other purpose other than to kill. you do not use them for self defense. a gun has many purposes, self defense , sport and hunting are among them. You cannot buy an "automatic weapon" I would suggest you educate yourself so that you may speak with better authority on the subject.

The bad guys are not there to tranquilize you, they intend to kill you. I would not bring a knife to a gun fight, or a taser to a knife fight. If the bad guys would agree and abide by the same laws as the good guys we would not be having this conversation.

I would politely say fuck you. And that automatic weapons are illegal and I have the right to use deadly force to protect myself from someone who in intending harm in my family. Criminals will own guns and use them, disarming law abiding citizens is not only a sign if governmental tyranny, but i wouldnt be able to protect myself with a dart gun as i would with a shotgun or a AR. On the pro life stuff I have no advice as I am more pro choice.

Change languages, change little things here and there. Nothing translates verbatim. The you have the addition and subtraction of various parts over time. So, no that metaphor doesn't really make the point intended.

There is a procedure in the Constitution to amend it. In all the mass anti-gun hysteria I have not heard or seen anyone propose an amendment to the Constitution. If you want to change the Constitution then change it, don't violate it or try to sneak around it.

"automatic assault weapons" CAN NOT '"be easily purchased by anyone and everyone". They are expensive, need approval by a local Law Enforcement Official, and require a background check to be conducted. The procedure to get approval to purchase one is also currently taking about six months to process.

People like to think that guns are good for protection but why do you need to kill someone to protect yourself?
You don't. Showing a gun is all that is needed in the vast majority of time a gun is used in a defensive situation. That is one reason I want the nastiest, meanest looking gun I can to defend myself. I want a gun that a bad guy will sh*t himself and take off running away from me before I need to even think of pulling the trigger.

Why not just use a tranquilizer gun or something not deadly?
If not tailored to the individual bad guy tranquilizers are slow and can be just as lethal as a gun. That applies to all less than lethal weapons. If I need to stop someone I need it to be immediately effective. He gave up his rights to when he took my rights by attacking me.

Those are my thoughts.

Tranquilizers are deadly. A "minor" miscalculation in dosage with all of the fast-acting tranquilizers can mean brain or nervous system damage or death. This is why anesthesiologists make the big bucks and get sued a lot. There is no "not lethal" solution to stopping an attack, unless your in an action movie. Tasers can and have caused death. Stun Guns can and have caused death. Beanbags from shotguns have killed people, and so have rubber bullets. "Less than lethal" doe not mean death never results, just that it is less likely.

For whatever reason, we as a society seem to think that all people deserve to live and have some issue with death. Some dont. Like it or not, some people do not deserve to walk the Earth. We are all going to die. I prefer that my death not come at the hands of some asshat who tries to do harm to my family or to myself. The police are not there for my personal protection, nor are they responsible for it. I am. Try and take away that ability, and that right to ensure my personal safety and I consider it enemy action and will respond and proceed accordingly. Do not be that enemy.

The answer is the thousands of years of history that they chose their words from. You think that the history of the world is so irrelevant to our current pretty little lives? Have there not been multiple tyrannical governments overthrown in other areas of the world in just the last five years? Do you think that our current leadership or leaders from the last decade are above declaring themselves ruler for the rest of their lives? There is only one thing stopping them, and that is the constitution and more importantly the second amendment. Do you wake up in the morning and realize how fortunate you are to be born in America as opposed to some place like Swaziland? How did our great nation rise to where it is at now from a country of peasants and people seeking freedom from religious persecution? Maybe you should rethink your position for a second because the very items that you say are outdated and irrelevant are what I see as the only thing that sets this nation apart from other failing and falling countries in the world.

As for the "if we found bacteria on Mars it would be proclaimed as life" - well, yeah. That's true. Because it would be a single life form capable of living within it's environment. If we found fossilized red blood cells, white blood cells, or ejaculate - those would not be considered "life" but rather "indicators of life". You do understand that if you drip some blood on the ground that the blood is not going to crawl off and live on its own - right? That blood would, however, be an indicator of a life form which has blood.

I disagree. Why let them win the social media war? That's what it is, that's how osama got so popular. I think we should be blasting all the social media sites with pro-gun, anti obamalama stuff constantly! Most people cant think for themselves so they believe anything they see. Just like I strongly support open carry and open display of firearms. Most people have no dog in the race but if they only see guns on "breaking news" they will think they are bad. But if they see them daily like most of us did growing up they become normal. I have noticed a change in some people on face book who were on the medias side until me, my mom, and some friends started posting so much gun stuff that they are now used to seeing it.

The war of the future, elections, votes etc is being won on social media now! Obamalamadingadonga uses it very well and experts say thats how he got what he has got. We need to fight the fight on their grounds and not just let them have it.

This may sound cliche, but one of the main reasons I even have a facebook is to keep in touch with my old Army buddies... that and also on a rare occasion piss off some liberals with a very Pro-Constitution post... [Muaha] Why libs hate the Constitution so much is beyond my comprehension abilities.
