So I went up in the rafters this weekend and pulled down my old Anschutz 1415-1416 22LR from when I was a kid. It's got some surface rust on it, but I think it's still solid. Can someone recommend a good gunsmith in the Lakewood area that I could take it to and have it re-blued?

Thanks,
Chris

I'm interested in this as well, but I don't care if its Denver, Colorado Springs or otherwise. I have an older Super Blackhawk that has turned that purple hue that many are prone to and would like to have it re-blued.

Bert does bluing? I didn't realize that. I've had an M1 refinished by Chuck and his parkerizing and bluing were great. One of the few guys that blues the small parts like they were originally done. Most just parkerize everything.

I do not do bluing in house, the HazMat regulations will not allow it in my zoning. I do parkerize however.
I have had Chuck blue a couple of items for me and they turned out nicely.

Or try Dick Sandbom " Northland Gun" he does refinishing and is a trained gunsmith. His operation is out of Henderson.

Did you ever find a place? Many moons ago Colo School of Trades (gunsmithing school) used to have a special on blueing a couple times a year. I had them blue an Army colt kit gun and turned out well for about $30.
Now they want $90, sounds kind of high to me.

Yesterday I received a Taurus 82 from:
http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/411548691/Century+Arms--Used+TAURUS+M82+.38SPL+4%22+Barrel

It had holster wear around muzzle and cylinder, a few small surface discolorations, as advertised, but, in all, a very solid, large frame, .38 spl.
Great for a truck gun and only $208, just checked and they're $230 now.
Ran $15 transfer through Rapid Fire Bunker, very professional and pleasure to deal with.

Would like to get it re blued, but not for $90. I guess I don't know the difference between blued and Parkerized.

I decided to rattle can it. I ordered four different colors of Aervoe from Brownells and picked up some camo netting from the surplus store. I'll post up a pick once I get it done.

Bertram in Boulder does bluing.. I had him do some FAL parts and they turned out great. He only does bluing when he has enough parts built up to make it worth it so your turn around time could be a week or a month depending on what he has going on.
