View Full Version : .22RF 2Gun/Rimfire Challenge Match at CRC

Saturday, February 2, we will have a 2Gun match at CRC. There will be 4 stages and each stage will be shot with a .22rf handgun and a .22rf rifle. Stages will be static steel, 6 to 9 targets per stage. You will need about 80 rounds, but bring more because we may decide to do double runs on all stages. Match fee $10.

2 stages will have separate strings for rifle and pistol and 2 stages will one string for rifle and pistol and transitions will be off of a table. Scoring will be Time-Plus. Divisions will be Limited (Irons on both), Tactical (Irons on pistol, Optic on rifle) and Open. You will be afforded one mulligan per stage for malfunctions. If you want a little variety to rimfire steel challenge, or to practice some 3Gun skills on the cheap, this is for you. Also great for Ruger Rimfire Challenge practice.

Perfect! I'll be there. I need some practice for the NSSF Rimfire and this will be a nice change to the usual Steel Challenge.

Need holsters for the handgun? How many magazines?

When asked on the other thread, Mark said no holsters were needed for this .22 match. I always bring all of my pistol and rifle mags (but at least 5 of each) because you never know what's going to happen. Per the CRC email, here's the other info you need:

No holsters, 2 10 round mags per gun would be nice, but only one per gun is necessary. Set up at 7:30, Shooters meeting at 9:45, Shoot at 10. If you have never shot competition, we will run a short clinic from 9 to 9:30.

Sounds like we will have a good group with some new shooters...what is all about...and your couches last longer too.

Great time today, Mark. Thanks for putting it on. I really like the use of rifle and pistol on the same stage. Made for a nice change.

Glad you liked it. Everyone seemed to have a great time and the feedback was useful going forward. I was not sure there was a "right mix" for new shooters to top level 3Gunners, but it looks like we might have got close.

Had a great time! It wouldnt hurt my feelings at all to have a near-weekly rimfire event like this, just easy and fun and a great time.

The next one will be March 16th at CRC.

Put JULY 17-20 on your Calendars...The WORLD Rimfrie Challenge match will be at CRC. Colorado has a regional in April, a State first week of September and then the Worlds in July!

Just a reminder, the WORLDS have been relocated to Tulsa, OK, thank a CO legislator...

June 15 is a Ruger Rimfire match at CRC. We will do it the same way as last time...some fun stages and some 2 gun stages.

I'll be there anyway, cuz I think you're wrong about that! My Weekend from Hell has been moved from June 15th to some date as yet undetermined, so I get three Saturdays in a row on the east berms. Life is good.
