I took a glance at the site, and the same question arises.
It may be there, may not, but nothing jumped out to tell me.
Where is Lake George?

YOU know where it is at, and expect others to know, but some of us don't.
I know I am guilty of this sometimes.
Everyone knows where CCCSC is, right? .......Wrong.

It may help people decide if they want to participate if they know where it is. I have heard there are some nice 3-gun matches in Wyoming, is this the one?

See what I mean.
You might want to have a thread on the other site (that stands out) saying where it is.
Just trying to help.

Ignore the LEFT part in 2, I did the search from south Springs. Around mile 40 to 45 you'll see the Ranch Sign. Its up a dirt path for about 1/3 of a mile to the acctual ranch.

Once you get out of Lake George Town its around 4 to 5 miles out. I think I might had stretch the road out a bit on the map.

Docmedic- Thanks for posting the map. Pickenup- sorry that I wasn't clear in the directions, but that is why I said if you have any questions, please contact me at 55fmj@comcast.net and I would be glad to answer them. Lake George is about an hour west of Colo Spgs. on hwy 24. Continue west on hwy 24 for about 4 or 5 miles outside of town and you will see a red sign on the north side of the road that says M Lazy C Ranch. Take that right and head up the dirt road over the hill. You will go back about a mile, and then drop into a valley where the ranch is. Check in at the office/general store on the left. Sign the waiver and pay the match fee and they will direct you over to the range. If you don't have one already, I will give you a copy of the rules and sign you up on a score sheet. You will then start to get your gear together and get ready to have fun. We usually run 4 or 5 stages with a round count of around 75 rifle, 75 pistol, and 35 shotgun. There is another thread in this forum from last month's match that also has some info in it. If you have any more questions, please feel free to send me a message here, or send me an e-mail at 55fmj@comcast.net This is a fun match. You should come on out and give it a try.
The web-site for the actual ranch which has directions is www.mlazyc.com

I'd think about it but not ready to try shotgun ... in fact, I'm not sure I can get into a good prone position yet ...

Aloha shooter- There are no stages that you will have to go prone on for the upcomming match. This next match, everything is standing, running, and kneeling. Come on out and give it a try.

Well, I'm still unfamiliar with shotgun. I've got one but haven't had a chance to shoot it since I brought it back with me from Florida (and the only time I've shot one was 1986 ...). Otherwise, we're talking modern weapons (or what passes for them) so 1911/M&P, AR-15/M-1/M-1A are okay? My shotgun is a Mossberg 590.

I'm glad to see we'll still have some people comming ! Aloha shooter, your selection of guns will be just fine. Those are the most common. Atrain, if you are comming, you might as well bring some guns, 'cause you're gonna want to shoot ! I will be setting the stages up on friday night. It looks like the round count will be about the same as last month. 75 rifle, 75 pistol, and 35 to 40 shotgun. This time around, there are a couple of rifle targets that are about 80 yards out, and a couple of shotgun poppers that launch clay birds. Other than that, we'll still be runnin' and gunnin' . See everyone on saturday -Al

My set up is 1911,ar15, 590.

Al can you clarify what stage #s go with which stages? I'm assuming from my recollection that stage 5 is the furthest up the hill (the first stage we shot) and then they go in numerical order down the hill, is that correct?

TINCUP AL
05-26-2008, 09:20
rtr- Yes, that is correct. Stage 5 was the one that everyone started on first ( at the top of the hill ). Stage 4 was the one that you started lying down, stage 3 was the one with the moving target, and stage 2 was the one that you had to run downhill with the rifle and not shoot the hostages. Hope this helps, and I hope that you had a good time. You did some good shooting. -Al
