View Full Version : NY won't have enough prisons if this is true...

Not sure on the accuracy of the original site (SHTFPlan.com) I saw this on, but according to several "news" sources now, it appears that gun owners across NY are refusing to register their guns! Good for them. The question is, will they really stick it out and too many will refuse that the state will have to drop it or start building more prisons... or worse? Or will they fold after the first dozen or so arrests? I hope they tough it out and lead by example! I think this is where it will begin to start getting either really ugly or be a series of huge wins for the Second Amendment!

“I’ve heard from hundreds of people that they’re prepared to defy the law, and that number will be magnified by the thousands, by the tens of thousands, when the registration deadline comes,’’ said President Brian Olesen with American Shooters Supply, among the biggest gun dealers in the state, in an interview with the New York Post.Even government officials admit that forcing New Yorkers to register their guns will be a tough sell, and they are apparently aware that massive non-compliance will be the order of the day. “Many of these assault-rifle owners aren’t going to register; we realize that,’’ a source in the Cuomo administration told the Post, adding that officials expect “widespread violations” of the new statute.
Threats of imprisoning gun owners for up to a year and confiscating their weapons are already being issued by governor’s office, headed by a rabid anti-Second Amendment extremist who suggested before the bill passed that “confiscation” of all semi-automatic rifles was being considered. If tens or even hundreds of thousands of otherwise law-abiding citizens refuse to comply, however, analysts say New York would either have to start raising taxes and building a lot more prisons, or give up on the scheme that experts say will do nothing to reduce violence and that lawmakers say is aimed at eventual confiscation.
Activists involved in the state-wide boycott against the unconstitutional statute who spoke to the Post almost taunted authorities, saying gun owners would essentially dare authorities to “come and take it away.”

“They’re saying, ‘F— the governor! F— Cuomo! We’re not going to register our guns,’ and I think they’re serious. People are not going to do it. People are going to resist,” explained State Rifle and Pistol Association President Tom King, who also serves on the National Rifle Association board of directors. “They’re taking one of our guaranteed civil rights, and they’re taking it away.”

I honestly think this is the only way we really can fight against the rules. We can't go the route of violence we have to take the Passive approach and simply overwhelmed the system to the point where they can no longer effectively enforce the law.

should be interesting to see how it plays out. I hope no one is injured in anyway.

I wonder what the compliance rate was in CA when they had to register back in the 2000, or whenever it was?

They have already cast the first stone and it made a ripple. The curious thing will be if they cast the second stone what will come of that. Life is about to get really interesting.

It'll be like the movie-NY will be the prison..
It would be interesting to say the least to see how it plays out.
Theres a lot of illegal laws coming out of Albany and sooner or later it's gonna bite them in the ass.

Cuomo needs to be removed for psycyatric reasons cause he's acting compleatly insane.
A ll it's gonna tale to get the ball rolling is a line of lawyers slapping him with lawsuits for the double jepordy laws he's enacting..

If it happens, it will begin in New York. The NYPD and NYSP have gotten so accustomed to Gestapo tactics over the past three decades it is SOP for them now . . . and they have the full support of Cuomo, Bloomberg, and the Courts . . . it is like their private army up there. Nothing at all like the DPD or LAPD . . . those departments have oversight, investigation, and media coverage when a policeman is accused of wrongdoing. In New York the police are free to do whatever they want, with very few restrictions, and their testimony is rarely questioned. New York has been a literal "police state" for a long time . . . but I think a lot of NYSP troopers may resign when ordered to kick down doors of citizens known to possess assault rifles who are refusing to turn them in . . . after all, that is somewhat risky.

NYC sends it's prisoners on a "going nowhere" cruise: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vernon_C._Bain_Correctional_Center

Bloomberg actually makes David Dinkins look like a brain surgeon. [LOL]

It will be interesting to see how many Molon Labe folks actually mean it..

But then again - they won't come door to door. They will just tack on extra penalties when then find someone doing something else wrong. Wait until all the loud neighbor complaints become "They were yelling - and I saw a gun - heard him talk about a gun...".

Yadda yadda yadda..

The NY "law" will likely get its day in court very soon. Why comply if you don't have to?

I would put money down that the NY law won't see the SCOTUS for at least a year.

Also, as some here have alluded, they won't go kicking down doors... too risky. They will do it just like the IRS: find one person who is violating a ban and make an example of them. Everyone who said "MOLON LABE" but doesn't have a real backbone will be running to their police station begging for leniency.

At the pro gun control rally at the State Capitol building they were all holding nicely printed signs stating "let us live!"

Expect NY to audit FFL records for transfers of guns that have subsequently been banned. They'll build a registry from that and go after the owners - guilty til proven innocent and all that. Search warrants and Gestapo tactics. I actually expect the libs to cheer when the JBTs shoot down a gun owner who resists. They are out for blood, their hatred is seething.

I thought only ATF had access to FFL records? Not that it will stop them from demanding them.

"Sorry I lost that gun in a boating accident."

Really though I doubt the police have the manpower to pursue such a tactic.

I don't think they will resort to kicking down doors. They won't have too.

People will defy the law and eventually someone defying the law will have the cops at their house for something or another, the cops will discover the illegal gun and the person will be made an example of. This will happen several times and it will be blasted all over the media. If people do no start complying quickly the sentences will become more and more harsh to the point that anyone living in defiance will either cave in or move.

Theres also the issue that many of us live in houses where we are not the only decision makers. We might have a spouse that will not want to live in fear of prosecution. There's also a good chance New York will implement school programs against guns like DARE was against DRUGS. DARE worked in the sense that kids ratted out their parents left and right to their DARE officers, I could see this being the case with a gun program and kids telling on their parents for having illegal guns.

This.. Happened in California. Teachers were instructed to ask their students if they had any guns in the house. If so, what did they look like. Parent-Teacher confrences the results were discussed - along with the penalties of not complying with California's registration laws. All done with cops (off-duty but still in uniform) in the room.

How do you eat an elephant? They don't need large numbers, just persistent scare tactics until everyone is as afraid of the government as they are the criminals the seek protection from. End game.

States can and do audit FFLs according to their state laws. Statutorily, CO has that authority although I've never heard of it happening.
Kali FFLs have it really bad.

When there were numerous complaints about DARE officers encouraging elementary school children to snitch on their parents, they changed tactics and had a non-LEO "guest speaker" -- usually a recovering drug addict on felony probation -- encourage the children to turn in family members so local law enforcement would have deniability.
