I found this site on GOOGLE. Signed up and am glad I found it. Given the level of hysteria that's going on throughout the country, AR shooters are possibly going to become an extinct species. Our legislature, which is controlled by the Democrat party, is hell bent on instituting a total "Assault Weapon" ban in Colorado without a grandfather clause, AND a ban on magazines with a capacity greater than ten rounds, again, without a grandfather clause. Yet, as incredible as it may sound, the Department of Homeland Security has solicited a contract for 7,000 AR-15 "Personal Defense Weapons" with a select fire capability. So, if I understand this right, civilians who own AR-15's that are ONLY semi-automatic fire capable are "Assault Weapons" while the M-16's DHS is seeking to purchase that have semi-automatic and FULLY automatic fire capability, are "Personal Defense Weapons" for "close quarters and maximum concealment is required". In other words, M4's with collapsible stocks and shorter than 16" barrels.
It disturbs me as a retired DHS ICE agent that my old agency is doing this and playing semantical word game.
I just purchased my very own Smith and Wesson M&P15 "Personal Defense Weapon" at the Tanner Gun Show. and NO, I didn't pay an arm and a leg for it. $1,100.00 is what it went for. Other AR's were from $2,000 and up.
