That's how you get it done.
The battle over the right to bear arms is flaring in Vermont, where a local gun range has moved to prohibit the Burlington Police Department from training at its facilities after the City Council voted to advance a measure banning semi-automatic rifles and large-capacity magazines.
The leadership of the Lamoille Valley Fish and Game Club explained that it's "difficult" for the club to support the city -- even its officers -- given the actions of the council.

Good on the gun club, and the city council is setting itself up for a HUGE lawsuit the first time a cop arrests someone for their little city wide ban when the State preemption laws kick in to play.
Wonder how friendly the relations with the GC and LE really were.

Spectacular! While I doubt the LE have control over what the City Council proposes, it would definitely make the LE start to speak up on the matter since they would no longer have a place to train.
Makes me wonder if something similar would happen where I live. The Border Patrol has unlimited access to the shooting range I belong to, and at any given time, there will be at least 1 SUV but usually 3-5 SUVs training with what sounds like Full Auto rifles. They always use the last general purpose 50yd bermed-in ranges (20ft berms on 3 sides with no fixed target stands, benches, etc). Whats better, is that when they show up, they always come flying into the range at 20mph and go driving down the road behind the firing line of berms, all the way to their destination. Its like they think that because the SUVs were designed to drive fast on dirt roads, that they must always use that capability! [LOL]
The last time I was there, I was half tempted to ask the range master if the Border Patrol allowed spectators, because I would LOVE to go watch them shoot shit. Something tells me they wouldn't allow it.
Outstanding! This is how you go about expressing your concerns in a peaceful way. Let's hope other clubs and ranges take note!

This is going to sound racist. But the mexis on the other side of the boarder live that shit every day, it's not "training" for them. Apparently the cartels have lost control and the cartels took over the police a long time ago. You couldn't pay me to go over the border. If I worked for said agency I would drive as fast as I could and use as many bullets as I could...

Here is their website contact page: http://www.lvfgc.org/contact.html
I was thinking about emailing the president with a big thumbs up but thinking his email could be getting flooded. I'm thinking a nice Molon Labe post card from CO.
Thoughts?

The city will probably just build a new shooting facility with taxpayer money. The city of Longmont built a range with taxpayer funds so the cops would have a place to shoot, Now they want to charge the residents of Longmont like $600 to be a member to use the facility.
