I was pretty set on a Tundra until I checked out the new Ram's. I said I would never buy another black car, but I found this one on the lot when I was looking at a silver one and my wife and I both looked at eachother and said "that's the one!"

20013 Ram QC 1500 Sport with the Hemi. It's an early model '13 so it doesn't have the new fancy air ride suspension, nor the 8 speed transmission, but with dodges reputation with truck transmissions I think I'll pass on a first year design.

My buddy just got one. Late model 2012. He loves it. When he was looking he was set on a tundra as well but we couldnt figure out where the extra $20,000 went for the Tundra. For the price of a RAM, they cant be beat.

Score StreetDoctor! She looks like a workhorse! I am actually looking around for a Tundra or Tacoma quad TRD too... what made you opt for the Ram instead, if you can pinpoint any specific reasons? Also, if it's not too sensitive, would you mind letting me know what the registration tax ends up being on it? I heard the Ram was double some other pickups for some reason and just wanted a good idea of what i'd be looking at.

I had no idea how nice the interior was on those. Sweet looking truck man, I bought an 08 dodge ram 1500 a couple years ago and I don't know if I will ever buy any pickup but a dodge from now on. Great choice

This is my 3rd Ram, I also had a base model 2004, and a 2006 Bighorn. The big difference for me between this and the Toyota was the ram interior is hands down way nicer! The sticker was 41.5k, and we got it down to 36 and some change, and they threw in the navigation software upgrade and heated seats. The Tundra grade interior is very "work truck like" to upgrade to the limited would have been about 5k more than this one. The ram felt more powerful and just more refined (suspension, seats, etc). I'm still figuring out the Uconnect, but it's basically like a laptop (with wifi option) in your dashboard. From what I understanding registration tax will be 2% of MSRP. I have until the end of March on the temp plate so I'm going to let that sink in a little bit lol.

Ok thanks for the insight StreetDoctor. I will have to look at the RAM's. I've never considered them really... but just have to now.
I hope for your sake that registration is only 2% of the msrp for you. I know it has something to do with the overall weight and value of the vehicle, when new. I have a strong suspicion it's going to be significantly more than that but would love to learn otherwise. Good luck and congratulations again regardless!!!

Glad you bought AMERICAN! Nice RIDE!!

Toyota vs Fiat.

The Toyota is a lifestyle. The other is an Italian pickup.[ROFL1]

Nice truck! I love the looks of the new Rams (2009/10-now)... Got over 100K on my '05 and would love to be able to afford a '13.

I see the same thing I saw on the GM trucks; Where's the interior room? Can they make the center consoles any bigger?

Grats and have fun with the new ride!

Talk to him in 4 years when he tries to resell it and it will make sense. I had a friend who saved about $3k buying a new Colorado truck over a Tacoma. 4 years and $10k trade-in difference later he wished he had just gone with the truck he wanted. BTW, no way in heck was it apples to apples $20k difference. I'm sure there was a large discrepancy in year, mileage and features. The retail cost isn't that different.

Funny. I was looking at late model Tundras and ended up with a 09 Ram hemi. The 2013 won Truck of the year, and its just an evolved/refined version of my truck. When the coil rears came out I was pissed Dodge did it. Coils ride nice. My resale will for sure be less than a Tundra but got a lot more truck with way less miles. Nicest truck I've owned, best gas mileage too. I did eat a lot of poo as I've been beating up Mopars for a while.
