I know a few people from CO4x4 post here ... so I guess I can finally join the cool kids.

Female, married, long time gun owner, first time AR owner (well it isn't in my hands just yet but I have a lower on order)
I have a couple other guns too. I saw a great deal on a lower so I put in an order for two and they're finally on their way. I will be doing a lot of lurking, reading, and asking the occasional silly question.

I also like Jeeps, motorcycles, Mustangs, and other things that cost too much money.

It's possible I am getting in over my head by trying to build my first ever AR ... but I succumbed to a combination of panic buying AND a smokin deal.

It won't be the first time I've bitten off more than I could chew...

No worries. The brain trust here will offer so many solutions to any problems that you'll be more confused than when you knew nothing.

Wait...

First, welcome. Very glad to have another female join the site. I wish we could get lots more ladies to join; AR's aren't just boys toys.

Zombie Steve put it quite well, you aren't in over your head with all of the help you'll find here. Unlike many other boards out there, we try to embrace our new members and really help them learn about this addiction they've stepped into for the "Evil Black Rifle" (EBR). Don't be shy about askng any questions or making any comments you may have. We're a family here.

Hey kiddo, welcome! I'm very familiar with your name from the 4x4 board, although I rarely visit there anymore. Shooting guns is LOTS easier than restoring my Willys, but I'll get it finished someday.

I have a photo from that forum that I "think" is you, with a halo? I saved it because it really reminds me of a good friend from long ago and far away, in another life.

Thank you! my best friend has one too (a bushmaster, omg) but she lives too far away for me to try it :(

Another friend I taught to shoot wants a hello kitty AR now, lol.

I've been reading like mad, and watching videos too. I'm really excited to build it my way. The last 2 guns we bought were "community property" and that's not as fun somehow. silly eh? My handguns & the 10/22 are kind of my babies in a way the shotgun and the mosin aren't, but I might steal his 1911 until I get another one :D

Yeah, that was from a few years ago. It still makes me laugh.

I sold my YJ. We still have the TJbut it's "his." I got an f150 instead. I still go to 4x4 but I pretty much only read firing range lately. I will build another rig when I graduate. :)

Thanks!

I just wish we had more time to wheel. We got married in Moab, and spent 10 days there wheeling as our honeymoon.

You guys are in Denver. We might be heading out to a trail Thursday midday, not sure where, but 10mm is down south and I'm in FoCo. My YJ is white also. I bet you miss it.

No problem at all all you need is the right information and the right tools. Other than the parts get yourself a good roll pin punch set , a upper and lower vise clamp set (wheeler makes a great one) , armorers wrench, and a nylon/brass hammer. Take your time and read up and You Tube is a great
resource also.

What, he doesn't want a pink AR?

What, he doesn't want a pink AR?

Truth be told neither do I ... but turquoise & orange would be cool.

As if I listen to him anyway. At this point our ar15 knowledge is even :)
