Just an interesting thought and figured I would bring it up.

What is everyones thought on boycotting hunting in states, yes to include CO if needed, that support and/or pass an AWB?

Seems that would hit the state(s) where it hurts, especially if out of staters participated.

What organization(s) would be best to get something like this rolling?

That sounds great if you don't hunt to fill your freezer with meat.... BUT, for those of us that do can't afford not to hunt, I guess we'll be hunting boycott or not.

I almost hope for a boycott to keep more people out of the woods/plains increasing my opportunities.

I say boycott hunting in Colorado. Their prices are too high, too many hunters. This will make it easier for me to draw tags... I hunt to fill my freezer as well. I depend on the meat for a lot of the year. As I type, I have pronghorn burger browning up to make a 4 cheese lasagna hamburger helper.

A hunting boycott won't benefit anyone. Boycotting hunting hurts only those who depend on hunting for food and livelihood. I have several friends that are working odd jobs to feed their families because the guide business is down due to the economy. I won't intentionally hurt those who are on our side to try to prove a point to those that will just take money from somewhere else if they need it.

A boycott is intended to financially hurt those who make bad choices in some form, but boycotting hunting won't do that at all. AWBs won't reduce crime, hunting boycotts won't stop AWBs.

I dont see where this is going and I doubt you'll get much support. I wasnt able to hunt any last year so ill be hunting every season I can.

Let me give you a list of units to boycott. That will be much more efficient that boycotting the whole state!

Good perspective. Don't boycott. You'll just take food off the tables of like-minded folks.

I had just read this as a suggestion someplace else, saying that it would hit the state(s) in their pocket books as hunting does bring in a lot of money to the state coffers.

Obviously the viewpoint here is different.

+1

And I thought the $ went to the DOW, and not the State, but I may be wrong, never looked.

and these statements and many more like them are why we are going to lose.

we're all talk, no action, even when it hits those directly in the pocketbook. heaven forbid anyone make any sacrifices at all, for any reason. Keep feeding our enemies.[Bang]

John, if you think boycotting hunting will hit anti-gunners "in the pocketbook" then you are grossly misinformed. Boycotting hunting will ONLY hurt those that are Pro-Gun and the mere suggestion that this "sacrifice" will have any benefit at all is just plain ignorance.

Boycott on paying the DOW for hunting: Yes!
However for a lower middle class family who relies on the meat for food, go hunt quietly to provide for the family. Some people may say this is poaching... I say when it is for your survival, no one can tell you what to do!

wow. This is getting ridiculous. Gun owners USED to be good people, law abiding citizens. WTF is this BS...

its people like this that are going to get our rights taken away from us.

I keep the poacher hotline in my cell phone to report illegal hunting. Hope to see you out there.

Utter ignorance. Yes, it will hurt the people who rely on hunting for their income. The small towns of the Western slope mostly, people who are pro-gun. But you go ahead and boycott CO hunting...someone with some common sense will surely take the tags you don't use.
