Can't say that's really a shocker I didn't see coming. Common sense? Check. Cheap option? Check. Actually does something to protect kids? Check. Voted down by Democrats? Double freaking check.

Democrats seem to keep confusing " allow" with ""require".

It would have allowed the option. Letting each individual school district think for itself. Not like
Denver would have never allowed it but maybe some more sensible districts could at least have had the choice.
I think some knee jerk reactionary laws might be a better idea.
Maybe good vibes will be a better deterrent.
Heck, every shopping mall has a armed guard to protect shoppers. Why not our kids?
Dems are running the show and they're bought by the teacher's unions. I totally expected this.
idiots.
My sister and mom both went to the RMGO free teacher CCW class to get their permits. such a shame these people are denying our teachers the ability to protect our children.
If they think there will be massive bloodshed by teachers shooting kids if they have a CCW, my questions is why hasn't it happened already. they could easily take a gun to school. they aren't checked, patted down, run through metal detectors. they are professionals who most of which work hard, do their job well and try to keep the kids best interest in mind.

Well when something happens to someone our so call leaders we voted into office love they will change their dam thought process. Sooner or later criminals will do what criminals do......hurt people. Criminals do not follow the dam laws of the land. The so called Colorado leaders react on emotion all the dam time instead of looking at the big picture. If a teacher is trained properly to handle a firearm whats the problem. The dam gun free zones are death traps for law abiding citizens and a shooting party for criminals.............. Wow amazing, that is why it is so dam important to vote for people that think like you when it comes to the US Constitution. VOTE them out of OFFICE. Ok off my soap box. I hope all of you have safe day today.

God forbid the democrats actually let something go through that makes sense and would work. Morons
I guess change that would actually make a difference is not allowed in the "all options on the table" discussion.

See, this is how Democrats "Compromise" ... they vote down everything the opposition puts up and ram through everything they want regardless of the opposition.
The only hope I have is that the majority of Colorado Democrat rank and file are pro-gun and will vote for Republicans next time around (note that I'm not holding my breath).
KDVR has this article right next to one saying "Over 300 teachers and school personnel take CCW course". I had to chuckle. Politicians sure do know the people they're representing.
This is reasonable. Well just make the gun free zones wider. Right now they're what, 1000 feet? Lets make them 2500 feet. Extend the force field. Our kids will be safe if we just make more places gun free zones. [facepalm]

I believe it's been a while since we've actually had "representation." Politicians aren't in it to serve anyone but themselves- save for a very small number. [shithitsfan]

Effort was made and they shot it down. Now it's on their heads. When someone goes to a school and shoots anyone, the people march down to the capital and demand those dems' heads on a stick. A good ole fashioned lynch mob is what's needed here.
I would guess a significant(and growing) number of teachers are carrying in violation of the current law, deducing (correctly) that it is better to be fired and prosecuted than to explain why they were helpless to defend the children entrusted to their care.

That's what I would do and what I would expect as a parent.
