View Full Version : Daughters school just got put on lock down due to threat.
I do not have to much info at this time but my daughters school just got put on lock down do to some kind of threat. The only thing I know is they said it was some kind of prank and lifted the lockdown, but they will have police present for the remainder of the day. This is in California so I cannot do to much at this point but sit here and worry. What kind of threat would cause a lock down like this? Even if this is a prank it is a stupid one and not funny in any way. This is getting a little close to home for me as I am not comfortable with her in a public school to begin with.
Hope all turns out well man!
As a parent I can understand what your going through, at least the Police are onsite. Keep us informed!

Man I sure hope they catch this piece of crap and make an example out of him. Also it looks like to me the only reason they think it is a prank is because no one showed up, great police work. Hopefully they find out who it is and catch him before he hurts anyone. I think they are way to fast to just chalk it up as a prank personally, could just be cause my kid is at this school.
There's no shortage of nutjobs out there.
There's no shortage of nutjobs out there.I just do not understand what kind of sick worthless waste of skin gets off on hurting or scaring anyone let alone kids. How sick do you have to be to do something like this? When are they going to actually find a solution to the problem that will work? Instead of pointing the finger at things that will just make it worse.

Lock down is the dumbest idea ever... I will never understand why a better plan hasn't been put into place.. I've never understood lockdown
There's always been crazy people. In ages past, society took them out of the equation. Now they get classified with a disability and provided psychotropic drugs that have a rash of negative side-effects all on their own.
We go into lockdown at any little disturbance nowadays. There was an angry parent coming in yelling at the admin (good ol' case of "My little angel not do nuttin'"), lockdown.
I'm still undecided on the issue. I know the kids in my room would be safe as I carry. However, the whole idea of sitting still and waiting is a little hard for me. I see the pros and cons of it. We have at least a teacher conference on safety, etc about once every two months.

I agree. Isn't this making a conscious decision to become targets?

You carry in your class? Do you teach in a private school?

I think its a case of "If I have to draw, I care more about the threat facing me than my job."

I don't know the policies at your school but you may not want to post info like that anywhere on the internet. JMHO
