Powder valley Update, Not good

BACKORDERS: (Effective 01/29/13 at 8 AM ET)

Due to the overwhelming number of orders and the extreme supply shortages we are temporarily discontinuing our policy of accepting backorders. Over the past two months we have done everything we can to keep up with the orders including hiring several new employees and working 7 days a week. However, recently we have come to the realization that we simply can not continue to take orders for items that we have no idea when will be available, nor can we expect customers to continue to wait 4-6 weeks for us to process their in stock orders. Orders that are placed for items listed as "Out of Stock" on the website will be immediately canceled. All customers who have backorders in our system currently will not be affected and these orders will be processed as soon as the items come available. We are extremely sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Can you blame them? PV's prices are pretty stable and when they have items in stock, they ship fast. Ordering items that they don't have just seems to be counterproductive.

I hope they stay in business. I have had nothing but positive experiences in my dealings with them.

I'd say that's a very good way to handle it. Have bought from em in the past & been happy and will continue to after this (once they restock & accept backorders)

They are not cancelling anything already ordered. I'd guess their software does not allow them to allow backorders on some items only. This is a good policy to have until they can get software updated or things settle.

Not at all. it's a bummer EVERYTHING firearm related is OOS. Elk bomb has bare shelves and like every other FFL / LGS has no definitive date of delivery time, for anything.

Got an email from PZ today stating my order has shipped FedEx. It's been a few weeks and I actually forgot I placed it, so great news. What they're doing seems fair and honest.

I submitted an order on 14 Jan and they are currently working on 10 Jan, so I'm a few days out. Unfortunately a lot of what I ordered that was available 17 days ago, is out of stock now.

Odds are you will receive it if it was in stock when you ordered . I saw the writing on the wall of what was to come back in mid December , and ordered a bunch of Varget , boolits , and other powder . A few days later , It showed most of what I had ordered as out of stock . When they finally got around to shipping and invoicing a few weeks ago , I received everything . I think their system keeps track when orders are placed , and adjusts inventory accordingly .

Received an update from Powder Valley and news appears to be good. If I'm reading the invoice correctly, the bullets are heading my way plus the powder that I originally ordered but was listed as backordered.

Whole crap load of lead coming this way.. Now if I could just find some damn primers.

Trade you some Nosler 69gr custom competition for some small rifle primers (Fed 205 or CCI military).

Wish I had some to trade. I have a few thousand of CCI small rifle magnum on perpetual backorder at Brownells, but have 5K Wolf small rifle primers coming in sometime this week. Only thing I could find and still having to pay a little over five cents per primer.
