View Full Version : FEB 2/3 Co Springs
Ran by "Gun shows of the Rockies".
Is it a show worth going too? I'm looking to pick up a couple lower kits for two stripped lowers i just got. Haven't been to any shows in CO so i don't know what to expect.
Thanks.

Well, I have absolutely no idea what this show is like so let's hope SOMEONE else will volunteer some info regarding show size, location, cost, parking, etc.[blaster]
I went to this Promoters event at World Arena in the Past, It was not awesome. The last event ( not theirs), at Freedom Expo was a lot bigger and better. Maybe the new location will be a positive.

It's still an RK show, according to their site: http://gunshowtrader.com/gun-shows/colorado-springs-gun-show/ (note the website reference)

Updates?
Just got back. I want my $8 back.
Specialty Sports has more weapons in stock than the entire show. And lot's of 30rd 5.56 Pmags.. If you're ok with spending $60 a mag.
I did pick up a BNIB CMMG LPK for $80 though.. I figured that's a good deal since they can't be found anywhere.

Never been, just hoping to provide more info. It used to be at the World Arena, and I think the March show still is

Lots of the same vendors I have seen before at other shows, a few I haven't. I have been told that RK does more promotion than other organizers so vendors feel it is more worthwhile to come. I went yesterday, forgot my dollar off coupon so it was 8 dollars. Recollection is that there are about 7 columns of tables about 80 feet long and a row of tables/ displays on three sides around the columns.
parking can be a bear. Last time wound up clear around back. This time got lucky and parked fairly close up front, but others were spilling over into nearby business.( they were closed on sat and sun). I went around One, line was about 3 in front of me to get in.
Some displays with new pistols, some with new rifles, several with used equipment. I also think specialty sports probably has more in stock than whole gun show. Some ammo suppliers, ammo kan doing a steady business.
A lot of vendors taking advantage of the "demand". Cheapest AR I saw was a Bushmaster E2S for 1500, most expensive was a Colt pre ban, match heavy barrel for 4400.
Compared to a year ago, lots more people, lot higher prices, lot less merchandise.
Tanner in Denver is bigger but some in Pueblo have been a lot smaller.
The other major show in Colo Springs is the Seratoma show, lot of same vendors but some different ones, about same size show, last one was busy too, due to all of the panic buying.
I don't want my money back because I went for the entertainment of it all and just to get a sense of the prices, but then I was only 25 mins away.
If anyone saw someone walking around with a brand new, unfired Russian SKS for sale (sale "flag" sticking out of the barrel) that was me.
Got pretty close to my bottom dollar, but didn't quite make it. I was amused at the low balling, though.
I figure I'll get what I want for it at the next Tanner show.

02, I'll bet some of the "low ball" offers were due to the fact that a lot of guys are looking for just about any ole SKS and some didn't realize that the Russian models (especially unfired models) are worth more moolah. [blaster]
Oh, they knew :) They were hoping I didn't know :)
Some friends and I are already talking about getting a table at Tanner to unload some stuff we just don't shoot.

Tanner is an excellent place to unload shooting type stuff that is no longer used/needed. I have had a table up there on a few occasions and always did well, however with the prices of motel, fuel and table rent, those trips from my place to Denver have become a losing proposition.[blaster]
