Anyone have a favorite reload they would like to share the recipe for?
Standard plinking round and a good ballistic tip type round for a standard A2 1/9 twist.
I had some old reloader 12 and made up some rounds with 55gFMJ WC and they worked well, but now I'm out of reloader 12 and will have to choose something new...
Thanks for any ideas. Kelly.

I've had great results with 25.5 gr. Varget 55 grain bullet, usually Hornady v-max.
Varget is a good all round bottleneck case powder up to about 30.06 for bolt guns. Don't use it in a Garand the burn rate is off for action timing, it will work but its rough on the gun.
My 223 load for Varget and the AR is similar to what was already mentioned however it can be finicky to meter since its extruded.
I recently started working up a test load using TAC and I am very impressed with it. It meters much better then Varget and seems to burn a little cleaner. Its also about 3 bucks a pound cheaper then Vagret.
Its been pointed out that Varget will clean up a bit as you reach max loads but I rarely load that way.

Great, Thanks for the information, I'm still trying to decide on the powder to use... so many choices, and I don't want to spend money and find out it was a bad choice and end up with a can of unused powder...
anyone tried the reloader 10x? Alliant says it's good for 223...
Kc.
If your just plinking I suggest blc-2 or h335 for 55grainers or 62 grainers
