Anyone have any ideas? I'm dropping my wife off somewhere down there at around seven and need to pick her back up around nine or nine thirty. I don't really want to go down to the 16th Street/Larimer area but don't know where else to go. I'll post up later exactly where I am dropping her off. Maybe one of you guys lives in the area and wants to grab a beer or two?

Looks like she's going somewhere near 26th and Downing. I think that's the Five Points area. Perhaps I should consider carrying?

+1 about the carrying thing in Five Point. There is a Nuggets game tonight and seats are available.... just saying.

If you like Pork Tenderloin sandwiches (which most places don't even offer) and a pretty good selection of beer, try Freshcraft. Turns out the owners are from Iowa and that's why they offer a good sandwich. I just found out about this place a couple of months ago myself.

Cheese Crusted Iowa Style Pork Tenderloin | 8.25
Fresh hand cut pork loin crusted in a savory herb and cheese cracker crust. Placed on a roll with Dijon mustard on the bottom and smoked onion ketchup on the top and finished with house pickle chips.

I was going to recommend Duffy's Cherry Cricket on 2nd and Josephine, but damn that pork sandwich sounds good.

I hear City Park is nice in the evening. :)

I always carry anytime I go to Denver- especially 5 Points, sure it's gotten better over the years, but it's still pretty bad (have a couple friends who live in the area- 2 break ins on their street, one vehicle theft- and that's just this year!). You can always go to Blake St. Tavern- great place, good libations, and friendly atmosphere... but if you don't like sports you probably won't like it. [Beer]

My Brothers Bar... 15th and Platte. Good beer and the Johnny burger kicks ass.

IMHO, you'd be a fool not to carry in that area, and should even consider staying with your wife, if possible... That part of town is sketchy after dark, and it's a Friday.

I was going to recommend Duffy's Cherry Cricket on 2nd and Josephine. . .

Greasy burgers, drunken cougars, dingbat servers, and no parking for blocks . . . you should probably pass on the Cherry Cricket experience.

Every time I glance at the title of this thread I see: "I need to kill some one in Denver this evening"

My eyes are completing the sentence before my brain reads the words.

Dropped the wife off and then I split. It looked kinda scary down there. [Coffee]

I'll be browsing around in Bass Pro Shop until she's ready to be picked up.

Watching Pulp Fiction right now. I read the thread title and for some reason processed it as "I need to kill someone in Denver this evening"
