Finally found out last night I passed the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) exam I took in December! This should be a good complement to my CISSP cert. Since I also found out this week my company is not giving out raises again, for the fourth consecutive year, I may start looking for a new job. Anyone hiring for an Information Security Officer?
ISACA is a joke. It cost $500 to take the exam, and it took them 8 weeks to run some scantron sheets through the machine and send out a canned email. Now they want another $50 to process my "application for certification." Bunch of clowns. I kinda miss taking Cisco exams, where they just tell you your score as soon as your done.
Congratulations! Now go start working on your ISC(2) CPEs!!! [ROFL1]
If you don't mind giving up a Saturday, you can proctor exams. I did that for awhile but got tired of burning a day to do it.

Congrats! Did your employer at least pay for the exam? Either way, good job!

They said they'll reimburse me for the exam if I passed it, so that's a plus. I used the 40-hour "boot camp" course I took to study for the CISA as my required CPEs to maintain my CISSP this cycle, so I'm all set until August with that. How many CPEs do you get for proctoring an exam?
That's terrific! Congratulations. :)
More feathers in your cap.

No one likes auditors.
LOL exactly. They expect me to be a dick before I even get there, so no one is surprised.

Congrats! If you want, I'll PM you with my email address and you can send me your resume (I'm actively looking to hire more staff for specialized positions)...

CEH is just as bad... also 500$. Although the training for CEH was a lot more fun than other security certs at least. Same thing though, I used my CEH training to cover my CISSP requirements for last year. This year... I'm hoping to get my VCP, and that'll cover my training too.
