View Full Version : "Exempted firearms" list in AWB
The closer you look at the list (http://reason.com/blog/2013/01/25/does-feinstein-think-all-guns-not-specif) of exempted firearms in the "assault weapon" ban (http://www.feinstein.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/files/serve/?File_id=9a9270d5-ce4d-49fb-9b2f-69e69f517fb4) that Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) introduced (http://reason.com/blog/2013/01/24/if-it-makes-sense-to-ban-adam-lanzas-gun) last week, the less sense it makes. To begin with, the list, which accounts for 95 of the bill's 121 pages, consists mostly of guns, such as bolt-action rifles and pump-action shotguns, that are not semiautomatic and therefore could not possibly qualify as "assault weapons" under Feinstein's definition. This part of the list is, as the National Rifle Association says, nothing but "window dressing" aimed at impressing us with Feinstein's generosity. It is like banning red cars with manual transmissions, then listing every car that is not banned because it is a different color or has an automatic transmission.
Feinstein, for whatever reason, clearly does not like adjustable stocks. But since she implicitly concedes in her list of exempted firearms that barrel shrouds and the other proscribed features don't really matter, why include them in the definition of assault weapon? Even if you accept Feinstein's arbitrary distinctions based on functionally unimportant features, there is no apparent method to her madness.

You or the FB poster don't get it do you. it's not about evil features or anything else, Other than eradication of the 2nd Amendment and total confiscation of firearms. Once you and or the FB poster grasp this line of thinking the better understanding you will have of the Anti-Gun Agenda.

I understand that. It is just comical listening to an anti-gun politician with zero actual knowledge of firearms trying to "justify" which guns "should" be banned and why. They simply cannot do it. They have no understanding of how firearms operate and haven't even bothered to research basic terminology. It is obvious they have no fucking idea what they are talking about, so their true agenda becomes clear. Once semi autos are banned, they'll go after all handguns and high powered rifles. Then it will be crossbows and BB guns. Owning a double barrel shotgun or a bolt action .22 will require a federal permit that requires renewal every year.

Given the phat stacks of cash she and her husband have made through sweetheart deals his companies have negotiated with the federal government, it seems pretty clear to me that she's far too much of an opportunist, and far too little of a true believer to be an adherent to Marxist philosophy.
Not that it would really make a difference if she was.

The mistake most people make is assuming that Liberal elitists are anti-gun. They are not. They only want themselves, their friends, and their servants to be permitted to own guns . . . and anyone else found with a gun goes to prison.
So they are antigun. They have no friends, no body needs a gun (i.e. they don't so no one does.) and the servants don't need them because they might have a palace revolt. So no one should have them. But you left out their private police body guards loyal to them only.

By "friends" I meant: others of their social class. By "servants" I meant law enforcement and military. Elitists pass laws that effect everyone other than themselves, who are exempt.
You wouldn't have a 2.9l ford engine for sale? You remind me of someone. But yeah you are right they don't want to inconvinence themselves or their slaves in anyway so they are exempt. But the rest of the nation can't be trusted to have guns. What if they turned the guns on them? I bet that keeps them up at night worrying. But when was the last time a politician was shot for treason and not by a faggot with a mental problem and glock trying to get attention for themselves because they have no dick?
