3 people are dead after a shooting inside a home in northeast Denver. 11 News has learned the victims include 2 children and 1 woman. Another child is in the hospital in critical condition.

The two children who were killed are under the age of 10 years old.

Police say this appears to have been an isolated shooting and there's no indication a shooter is still on the loose.

Police are not releasing any information about a motive at this point. They are still on the scene and investigating.

The neighborhood is in an industrial area, surrounded by warehouses and a trucking terminal, near the National Western Stock Show complex.

Neighbor Debbie Martinez says the house was recently sold.

KKTV 11 News is working to get more information.

How long will it take for Obama/Hickenlooper/Mauser/Perlmutter/DeGette to show up to exploit this?

I don't think they will, they have the news doing their job now. The above named has set the stage and left it to LSM (laim Stream media) to put it in the minds of all that they are right and we are wrong! GUNS ARE BAD...........

I think that depends on whether or not this was a murder+suicide. A mother killing her own kids pretty much makes people say she had obvious psychiatric problems without regard to the way she killed her children. I have a hunch but have nothing to prove that's what happened here.

...it does however follow the drumbeat of the ability of the mentally ill to obtain a firearm. Yet we all know that firearms exist and can be obtained by illegal means, just as alcohol was available during prohibition.

According to Denver Police, four people were shot, including one woman and three young children. 9NEWS has learned that Mayra Nunez, 23, shot her kids and then herself.

A boy and a girl were found dead in the home in the 4900 block of Pearl Street when police arrived, along with Mayra. Tony Nunez, Mayra's older brother, spoke to 9NEWS. He said Eric, who would have been 2 years old soon, as well as his 6-year-old sister Neveah, were the children who were killed at the scene.

One other girl, who Tony identified as 3-year-old Isabelle, was taken to Denver Health Hospital and immediately underwent surgery. She is still in critical condition.

WTH is wrong with people? Drop the kids off somewhere and go shoot yourself if thats what you want to do! Why kill the kids? People are sick!

People are very complex creatures and sometimes they break. It's sad when it happens, but it has always happened. It just gets more publicity with a media that feeds on this stuff.

Usually when a mother does something like this, she feels all hope is lost and is no longer thinking clearly. If the house was sold and she was a renter who was about to be put out on the street with two kids and no money, that is a rough situation -- especially at a time when most charities and social services are turning people away due to being overwhelmed with applicants. People have snapped over a lot less.

I've heard that sometimes people who want to kill themselves can't bring themselves to do it at first. So they commit horrible crimes in order to feel they deserve the taking of their own lives.

She may have done it to hurt the father of the children. Who knows. Women aren't rational creatures anyways.

Maybe that didn't quite come out right. I just meant that women tend to make decisions (good and bad) based off of feelings where men tend to make decisions based off of reason and logic and less off of emotions.

So, if I have offended any of the ladies here, I apologize. It was not my intent. [Beer]

I think my wife would agree with that assessment. I think this is a good explanation of our differences.
