As for Vigil, the 63-year-old lawmaker believes the recent surge in gun sales is the result of his own party's insistence on tightening gun regulations."The problem?" he said. "I'm not sure how many of these (proposed) laws will save lives."
Hopefully "some" is enough to torpedo this ridiculous round of legislation and we can get back to background checks taking 5 minutes.
I'm predicting that someone here will insist that its all a giant conspiracy to make "us" push less hard against these laws, and no democrat could possibly ever be pro-2A, so they're all lying before they come take our guns.

There's a rally on Friday the 8th at 1200
Fortunately, 2A supporters do cross party lines.
...for now.
The way the Democrat party is running to the left, there won't be room for pro-2A candidates much longer. The conservative Democrats have already been pushed out.

It's less about being pro 2A and more about fearing for the next election. But if that fear works, I will take it. Can't make Friday's rally due to work but I hope it is well attended.

hahaha, well done ;)

Seriously, WTH schedules a rally for a work day when their target demographic AREN'T Obama voters? Sorry, I'm not in the Wisconsin Teachers Union, I can't call in sick to go hang out at a political rally.

Why do people keep saying 1200?!?! It's at 10AM NATIONWIDE, local time. The 8th is correct.
There are a few Dems who wont vote for this, but a few is not a enough. They have a huge majority in the House and a comfortable majority in the Senate. Additionally, the left wing socialist scum that controls the party will push hard on the moderate Dems.

So here is how it will go. The Dem leadership wants X. If they have the votes and there are some members who do not want X, they will let them vote no. If they need votes, they will bribe the fence sitters until they vote yes. That can be $/projects for their district or just primo placement in the legislature.
Then hickenlooper will say something like i have been listening to the voters and they have spoken, they have urged us and convicenced me that this is necssary and will make everything better and he will sign the bill...

Are you going to go rally in front of an empty building at the Capitol on a weekend when no one is there? Our gov works the same days as the rest of us.

Who was it who kept saying that Obama has never tried to pass gun control laws while president, and he won't during his second term? Who was it that saying the right wing republicans were out to smear Obama's name with gun ban rumors? Some who still drink the koolade need to really let off. Obama and his pals want our guns, make no mistake. Luckily we have some democrats on our side, but most want nothing more than a peasant culture.

Did you go to the rally on SATURDAY the 19th? When we had that rally... people were saying "but it is a weekend... nobody will be there" and now that we are having one during the week people are saying "but it is a work day... don't people know we work?" People have been given options now... but my guess is the excuses will continue to flow.
I was at the one on Sat the 19th and I'll be at the one tomorrow on Friday. I had to talk it over with the boss, but he is flexible... I'll work a few more hours today and a few hours over the weekend to make up for the few hours I miss tomorrow. If I couldn't do that, I could always just take a half a day of PTO. I know PTO is precious and people don't want to "waste" it... but I find the cause important enough to use a half a day of vacay if I have to.

Do we have a website for the rally? I want accurate info before playing hooky for a couple hours at work.

It seems there are a ton of BlueDogs in Colorado actually. Especially after the first two years of "Obama bliss" wore off, and more people switched to the RonPaul bandwagon. There's hope even in Colorado. The big problem is all the assholes moving from California and never leaving, ugh. More Texans need to move here to balance it out!

Damn, weekday again. They need to realize people WORK for a living, heh.

BP, the are groups organizing at both 10am and 12pm tomorrow. The bulk of them now appear to be convening at noon local time, when scheduled speakers will get behind a microphone.

What got Dems elected in CO this year ...women's health and that is pretty much cut and dry. The next round of elections will be about the 2A and firearms, and the state legislators that have a clue do not want to be on the wrong side of that fight.
It's always harder to get protests put together for conservative issues. You either do it during the week when we are working or on a weekend when there is likely no politicians working. Last one I had prior plans and this one I have to work since the other team lead in my section is going on vacation for 2 weeks.

The problem is this: the Dems controlled redistricting in 2000 and 2010 and they basically own the state. Lamb and Romer stacked the court system with their appointments over 24 years so the Dems can get whatever they want and the gerrymandering of legislative districts is horrendous. My State Senate district in Conifer shares the same Senator as people in Denver...WTF!

Saw a report from someone that attended the rally in Annapolis, MD yesterday. They had a couple thousand show up and something like 400 sign up to "testify" on MD's proposed legislation. The media stuck around for the Governor's speech and some anti-gun testimony then left. The chairman of the committee then gave equal time to the two sides even though pro-2A folks outnumbered gun controllers by 4 to 1. The end result was keeping the committee busy until after 9pm and pissing off the chairman, who really didn't care what the pro-2A side had to say. By the end, he told them to just state their name and where they were from for the record.
I predict they're going to ram this through in MD and hope enough people forget about it in the next two years. CO might have a chance.

As a matter of fact, I DID attend the Saturday rally on the 19th despite a nasty cough and cold. I attended and then I came home, took my meds and collapsed for the rest of the weekend and holiday. It's not a matter of "wasting" PTO, it's a matter of having things I have to do at work on a workday. The media were there and reported on the rally even if they did deliberately undercount us. I just don't think they'll need to undercount you tomorrow since most gun owners aren't Obama voters getting their Obama phones and Obama checks.

I have to work that day. Tried to get off, but they don't grant leave on short notice where I work, nor are they very flexible with the schedule. I'll be thinking of you guys when I'm sitting in my capsule up near Sidney.
