View Full Version : Where can I get on waiting list for a Tavor?
Pretty simple. Trying to find someone who will be getting in on the first wave of these so I can get one or two.
Thanks!
I had never seen this gun until now. I also would like one.

Me first!
Shut your whore mouth, The Tavor doesn't exist, you don't want it. Go away!
Can't decide whether I'd want the 9mm or 5.45x39 conversion kit w/ it as well. I'd love if they would come out with a .308 variant. Hello much better version of the keltec RFB.

I could hug you right now... Looks like I'm gonna have to crack open the 'ol piggy bank!
Me first!
These are not the Tavors you're looking for... /jedi
Jer (and others here) probably already know more, but found some interesting comments online about the "Bullpup":
From 2012, might be old news:
the TAR-21 is to new to be grandfathered and it is a Israeli rifle so it would have to be imported and it dosent qualify for importing so untill they change the laws or they start building them in the us your out of luck. and it would be quite expencive. It's one of thoes brand new NATO rifles so you know it is going to be pricey
.
The Tavor is a select fire weapon manufactured after 1986. This means that is was manufactured after the machine gun registry was closed and cannot legally be sold to anyone outside of law enforcement in accordance with the Hughes Amendment to the Firearm Owners Protection Act.
.
The Bullpup seems cool until you shoot one. See if some range in your area has something you could rent. I've fired an AUG clone and found it extremely unpleasant. The bullpup design pulls the muzzle back much closer to your face, the blast was horrendous.
.
IWI probably does not make a semi auto version of the rifle. Also U.S. Import laws make it illegal for that rifle to be imported. Steyr makes a similar rifle called the AUG. They are pricy, but easy to find; provided they are legal in your state. Other than the PS-90 and the FN2000, thats about as close as you will ever get. Keep dreaming.
Very bad inaccurate or old info. Shows why you have to have a bucket of salt when going online.
Worst thing about bullpups is the triggers can be a bit wierd. I havn't heard that many complain about pressure from being close to the barrel, no worse than an SBR.
The Tavor's sold in the US are made here in the US. No import issues. Also obviously a semi auto.
MSRP is under 2k, as long as production isn't horrible I think it's supposed be be like $1,600. With probably the first batches getting gouged up over 2k.
That last comment is terrible, not sure what it's reffering to but plenty of other bull pup designs out there. Unlike some of them readily available like MSAR's which are pretty much AUG clones.
It's of israeli design. You don't want to be un american do you?

Done and done. Thanks!

I doubt that a barrel that is equal distance away from my face as a 11.5" AR15 is any worse than my 9" AR15 running 300BLK supersonic rounds and a muzzle break when my suppressor isn't affixed. lol
As for the triggers, DTA has a decent trigger and from what I've heard the new Tavors that are shipping to us will have an improved trigger pack that is reportedly going to be much better than previous versions and substantially better than other, older bullpup offerings. Sounds like they're finally taking the decades of bullpup trigger 'feel' complaints seriously. I wasn't able to make SHOT this year (boo!) but have talked to several people whom I trust that handled them and gave them a thumbs up.

Thanks for the updated info. Yeah, that was from just a random search and comments were from a year ago.
