View Full Version : Bravo Arms - COS -- Liquidation Sale, Don't Bother

For anyone considering hitting the liquidation sale at Bravo Arms in Colo Spr today or tomorrow, don't waste your time.

The sale was schedule to occur from 0800-1800 today & tomorrow so I got there by 0630. There were already 5 others waiting when I arrived. At about 0700, the owner came outside and told us all that he had sold ALL of his inventory to another retailer here in the Springs (he either wouldn't, or couldn't tell us who this is).

The sale is cancelled!

Bloody waste of time. The least they could have done would have been to update their website (which I checked last night) with this information to save everyone the aggravation, but no.

That sucks.

First he bends over his employees and now customers.

Thanks. Stopped buy yesterday and saw the sign on the door.
I was debating on going but now it looks like I'm going to the Commissary instead!!!!

This is all part of Ginsue's plan to keep us out of the sale.

Sounds like there is a story to them.....

Has to be Specialty, who else would have the deep pockets?

I had lots of hopes or what I might have been able to pick up, a stripped lower, some PMAGs, VooDoo Tactical case, grip pod, BCG, etc.

Very disappointing to say the least.

The owner said one thing about a non-compete clause in the contract depicting a timeframe where he can't open another store within a specific period and a distance restriction. But, he hinted that he's probably going to open another store in the area (got a feeling he was referring to someplace up north...maybe Monument?). After seeing how he's treated both his employees and customers, I don't think he'll succeed.

Naw. You know I don't roll like that. I subscribe to the "Share the wealth" philosophy with the members here. But, if you're in their area today/tomorrow, stop by and holler obscenities through the door.

Yeah, I stopped by there around Christmas and was told they were closed for inventory but would re-open after the 3rd or 4th of January. They never re-opened and I was pointed to their website (http://www.bravoarms.com (http://www.bravoarms.com/)) for info about this liquidation sale.

Totally bogus.

I really liked going in there to shoot the poop with Bryan and Justin. If they had it, and I wanted it, I bought it there.

For Tim O'Brien (owner) to treat his employees and his customers like that..... Eff him.

Not at me goof, at Bravo Arms (Tim O'Brien).

Its either specialty or mel bernstein.

My guess is Mel (aka Dragonman). He referred to the buyer as "he" and "him"... all personal pronouns versus "they" or "them".

Yup, same feelings here. Maybe Bryan and Justin will open their own store.

That would be my hope. I didn't realize that this O'Brien character was the owner; I just assumed it was Bryan and Justin. Those two always treated me right, had good prices, and always ready with an answer to any questions.

Tim O'Brien is a doctor (surgeon I think) and was the money man. There close to the end he treated Bravo Arms like his 'precious'. My toys, my sandbox, my precious.

I met him once and I was thoroughly unimpressed. I hope he reads this.

Agree with the sentiments regarding Tim O'Brien (yes, he's a surgeon), and Bryan & Justin.

While Tim can go pound sand, I'd love to see Bryan & Justin open their own store. Those 2 always made me feel welcome in the store.

I went shooting with Justin when this was beginning to happen around December. He said none of it was a surprise and they both had a decent amount of warning, although the timing was a little abrupt.

Both Brian and Justin have already bounced back. Both great guys, for sure.

Judging by their "rifle inventory" on their website, the owner had a real hard-on for 50BMG stuff...

I was there at 7. Many o butthurt people. Lol. I think a pretty shitty move on the owners part. I'm sure if you head out to Dragon Man's you'll see it.

Wonder what the mark up will be on the inventory they sold off. Even the email I got when I asked what they would have was a bit off. I can understand the cash only for a private sale between members here, but it also mentioned they were selling at panic prices for guns and ammo. Not going to withdraw thousands of dollars just in case they had something I needed. As a business they could have eaten the 3% for a card transaction, though it is usually already built into the prices these days. Cash transactions are just a bonus for most places anymore.

Yeah, he's one of the orthos at premier. And that attitude of his extends just about everywhere.

I talked to the person doing inventory yesterday - no hint that the sale would be called off - they can do what they want - it's their store.
I just wish they had been able to post more info earlier so I did not get my hopes up - or withdrawal any money for the cash only sale.

Their website still shows the sale is on -

I was not looking for much, some 22lr ammo, maybe 9x18 stuff. Maybe some more common items like stock / buffer tube, etc.

For what's it is worth, I did meed Tim O'Brien a few times, no issues - was a joy to talk to.

This indeed sucked..... My wife, a friend and I drove up from Buena Vista leaving early to arrive around 8:00 only to find a cancelled sale. While I completely understand him selling his inventory in one complete deal, it would have been nice if he'd updated his website. I checked at 5:30 a.m. and it still showed that the sale was happening, hence me driving down. I was disappointed.... my wife was F*(&*&ING upset with me for dragging her out of bed for a sale that didn't happen..... :(

^^^^^^^ This.

Ridiculous Prices.

Dont know who I worked with, but the pair of assholes behind the counters were nothing more than that, straight up assholes...even to a soldier in uniform asking some pretty straight forward questions.

Fuck these guys, glad they went belly up.

Sorry to everyone who got screwed over by this lack of a sale.

Wow. Their prices were certainly high (MSRP) but I never had any issues with Bryan or Justin. I honestly thought they were good guys. You obviously had a different experience than me.

care to share the whole story? If its important enough for you to hint at, then maybe it's important for you to give the whole scenario...
