View Full Version : Shoulda, coulda, woulda - What did you miss out on?
On a lighter note, what was it that you were completely ready to buy in late Dec but are not now able to afford?
I was in Grand Prix Guns on 12/15 looking that the SCAR17 on the wall but decided to go back on Monday since they were busy. I also missed out on 10K rds of minimags because I didn't want to make two trips to the car. They had 5K cases for $350 on the 15th.
Would like to get another 1911, but not going to switch calibers as long as ammo and components are so hard to find.
Was looking at SCAR 17s in the beginning of December, decided to wait and get one with my tax return. My tax return wont cover the current price.[Bang]

There was this one chick one time- Da'am, I should have hit it! Was the F was I thinking? [Bang]
In november I almost bought 100 pmags for $1,000 ($10 per) but I thought "why would I need 100 pmags?"

I was ready to buy a few 33 rounds glock mags for $40 and figured I could find them cheaper, also though $400 for 1000 rounds of federal 556 was way too much, Just paid $250 for 500 rounds.

You only regret the things you didn't do.... Well maybe a few that you did but only if you remember them.

Bought a Glock mag for my sister's boyfriend in early December. Within a week of Sandy Hook, they were gone everywhere. I like to think it made it more exciting for him when he unwrapped it.

I am glad when i was faced with that decision, I said " 100 pmags, I wish I could afford 1000 pmags" and then I bought the 100 pack from Brownells for $999 shipped. yeah.

AK stuff...i was looking into gettin a couple now they are way to expensive
Yup, I held off on the $330/1000 group buy. Guess hindsight really is 20/20.

Bought an M400 on Black Friday, figured I'd wait to do a bulk buy on ammo until after the holidays. That was a mistake. Still haven't shot it.

Me too, I picked up a couple 5s and 20s before everything went nutz.
Money is finite, we buy what we can when we can. Sometimes, like now, we have to wait longer than we want to.
I had been saving up for a FNH FS2000 for a few months. Plan was to cut the barrel back to 14.5" with an AAC blackout FH permanently affixed, then get a Mini4 suppressor.
About as soon as I got the money saved up the rifle doubled in price. Last time I saw one in stock it was $3500. [Rant1]
Grabbed ten pmags the day before sandy hook. Same as everyone else wish that magic 8 ball would've told me to add a few zeros to that order. Also sold a couple lowers that would've been nice to have laying around still (or maybe not since I'm not running around trying to find parts I suppose, glass half full ya know?)

I don't understand the price hike on this one, I don't think demand is high enough for these rifles to justify a price hike. They were expensive to start with and sat on the shelves. Oh well, you can always start the paperwork on the can and maybe the rifle will come down by the time the can comes in.

A few glock mags at Machinegun tours $10 each I think, after the president opened his mouth about gun regulations, I went back to get a couple of those mags. None left.

AK-47. Kept putting it off saying I just can't spend 6-800 on an AK.
Now I wish I could get one. But given the lack of ammo for pretty much everything it's probably better I don't have another caliber to hunt down.
I was working with Jay at the Shootin Shack to see if I could get a pallet before the election. I probably shouldn't have let .50c per mag detour me.

PSG-1 parts. Should have sold my car and bought them when I had the chance. [facepalm]

How is his shop doing? My best friend was his neighbor and got his first handgun from him. That was when he was running things out of his basement.
