View Full Version : Are you from the Missouri?
Okay guys and gals. I've been handling a lot of claims in Missouri, and have been wondering what is the proper way to spell St. Louis and St. Paul. For example, if I am addressing a letter, or describing a location, do I spell them out like Saint Louis, or abbreviate?
I'd just ask someone from MO when I talk to them, but so far, my impression of people from the St. Louis, MO area is that they engage in spelling as little as possible.
Help a guy out.
P.S. TheGinsue, I know you're from MO, and I could have just asked you. However, I felt like this could be a fun group activity. By the way, if anyone knows the number for the St. Louis, MO translator service, please let me know.
Are you from the Missouri?
No.
No help beyond that. Good luck.

I'm from the "other" side of the state, but typically, I believe, you usually see it spelled....

That website says:
City Hall Address
City of St. Louis
City Hall 1200 Market Street
Saint Louis, MO 63103
So, yeah... I don't know.
Haha. Of COURSE that's what the city website would say.
I usually refer to St. Louis as "that shithole", but I'm guessing that USPS may not deliver mail addressed as such correctly....

They might gett it mixed with DC, detroit, or college park.
I usually see it abbreviated st. Louis.

On the USPS delivery end of it - it doesn't matter... just get the zip code right - the OCR's read the zip for sort... that will get it to the GMF that handles that zip...
As for the rest...
I'm lazy... St. Louis.
Not from there, but used to spend a lot of summers there, and did my Basic training there... one thing, you misspelled "Misery." [Coffee]
