View Full Version : EOTech
So I just got a slightly used EOTech sight, I think it’s a 512 (is there someplace with the model number?), and it is a little fuzzy, and it looks like there is two overlays, slightly off from the other, with one being about half a mil up and to the right. It looks like it would be much finer if they both were right over each other. I know this sight works like a HUD in a jet, and I know they are much sharper than this EOTech (maybe I‘m expecting to much?), has anyone else noticed this about there EOTech?

if you're wearing glasses take them off. i can't see shit with my glasses on, while using red dots.

EOTechs are fuzzy. Bring it to a shop that sells them and compare. I would bet they have a good warranty even if you bought it used.
A 512 uses AA batteries and does not have the NV button between the up and down brightness adjustments.
The 65MOA ring is fuzzy when you are focusing directly on the ring. Remember that with any red dot, you are supposed to look "through" the dot/ring/donut at the target. Meaning your forefront focus is on the target. This is a learned skill and is contrary to what most have learned about targeting reticles. Pat Rogers wrote a great article in SWAT mag several months back about this technique and it would be worth finding and reading.
EOTech will take care of you if there is something actually wrong with the sight. Like Westy said, go look at another one first and if there is a huge difference, then call EOTech and get a RMA for repair.

I had the same experience with my 512 when I first started using it.I wear glasses so that was part of it (also age I think).I did compare mine with others and it was pretty much the same thing. So apparently it's me,which sometimes is hard to admit,- [Beer]
I was looking at it in low light turned way down, with it turned up in the daylight its fine, and even in low light as long as its turned up it fine, I guess that’s why its not NV compatible.
