From RMGO: Gun Control Bills up TOMORROW
Over the last two days, despite massive grassroots opposition from RMGO members and supporters, a number of extremely anti-gun bills passed out of committee and are headed to the House floor.
The bill will now be heard in the House.
Those of you who showed up at the Capitol to oppose ALL restrictions on our gun rights - Thank you.
But our work isn't done. Anti-gun Democrats in the House are feeling the heat from gun owners. Gun Owners like you and I need to keep up the pressure.
These anti-gun bills will be up for the second reading in the House chamber TOMORROW!
Among the draconian measures expected to be debated:
HB-1224: Bans all magazines that hold more than 15 rounds.
HB-1226: Bans armed self-defense on college campuses; expanding criminal safe-zones to all state college and university campuses.
HB-1228: Imposes a Jim Crow-style gun tax on all purchases. This legislation has no limit on the amount the CBI could charge for a background check.
HB-1229: Bans the private sale of firearms and institutes universal background checks / gun registration for all Colorado gun owners.
With more attempts at restricting your Second Amendment rights on the table at the Capitol, your activism is needed now more than ever.
To stop ALL gun control schemes from becoming law, I need you to take action RIGHT NOW!
Here's what you can do to help out:
Please contact your State Representative TODAY, and politely remind them that gun owners are watching how they vote. Urge them to vote "NO" on HB-1224, HB-1226, HB-1228 and HB-1229 (click here: http://www.leg.state.co.us/ (http://paracom.paramountcommunication.com/ct/11423563:14577659394:m:1:206043978:81B23CF88043ABC B3FC5D431C39FDC48:r) to find out who your State Representative is).
Come to the Capitol TOMORROW (Friday, February 15th) and hold your legislator accountable. Your presence in the House gallery will out them on notice that their constituents DO NOT support more gun control. The House session starts at 9:00 AM. Be there by 8:15 AM to ensure you have a seat.

Thanks, in advance, for taking action.
For freedom,
Dudley Brown,
Executive Director

To send a Fax, all Reps use a commom/shared Fax #: 303-866-2218
I e-mailed all of them this morning. I'm working my way through the faxes now.
Please note, the faxes must be sent to a specific person or they will not be delivered.

Anyone thinking of going ??
I have the time .. think I might do it .. tho 8 am is real early for me .. will we get a chance to sign up and talk like the last rounds?
Does anyone know on the faxes, if I can fax all 20+ sheets at once? Or do I need to send them individually? I know I have to address them individually but it'd be nice to just stick all the letters in there at once and send them off.

Rmgo needs to stick to the facts. No embellishment on these bills is needed to see that they're crap.
Does anyone know on the faxes, if I can fax all 20+ sheets at once? Or do I need to send them individually? I know I have to address them individually but it'd be nice to just stick all the letters in there at once and send them off.
Individually. I called this morning and asked the same question. It makes life difficult.
Just saw a big paper delivery to the Capitol building, you all are tearing it up. KEEP IT UP!!!

I am going to take the day off when they go to the Senate. We have the best chance at defeating or amending these bills in the Senate. I am going to save my time for that.

Individually. I called this morning and asked the same question. It makes life difficult.
More idiodacy on the part of government. First they tell us that faxes and letters are the only things they really pay attention to and then tell us that there is a difference between 37 pages and 37 pages. And of course the single fax machine is off at night, so 8-5 M-F is all they are willing to tolerate to hear from us.
That in itself is worth a rebellion.

I called and left a message. Wish I could go but would probably get tossed out for screaming YOU LIE too many times. [Mad]
It is true that the Senate holds more promise, but I plan to keep the pressure on through the entire process! They need to know we are motivated and will dedicate our time, money and resources to defeating every legislator that voted in favor of these bills.
THANK YOU muddywings
Here is what I wrote (it was hard not to use profanity):
Dear Representative:
I am writing to strongly urge you to vote NO on any of the ill-conceived gun control bills being debated tomorrow, including HB-1224, HB-1226, HB-1228 and HB-1229.
You do no favors to the citizens of Colorado by voting yes, because these proposed laws, no matter how emotionally well-intentioned, would have the perverse effect of putting Coloradans at risk.
Votes have consequences.
Should you vote yes, I will enthusiastically organize with other like-minded voters to generously fund the campaign of your next opponent to ensure that your betrayal of the Second Amendment and the citizens of Colorado is paid for with the loss of your seat.

Message from RMGO (Contact Wavering Democrats NOW!)
If you are on Twitter or Facebook, all of the Reps below have pages you can post to or send messages to!
Dear fellow Patriot,
In a few minutes, the Colorado House of Representatives will begin the first round of floor debate on four extremely anti-gun bills.
Among the draconian measures they will debate today, are:
• HB-1224: Bans all magazines that hold more than 15 rounds.
• HB-1226: Bans armed self-defense on college campuses; expanding criminal safe-zones to all state college and university campuses.
• HB-1228: Imposes a Jim Crow-style GUN TAX on all firearm purchases. This legislation has no limit on the amount the CBI could charge for a background check.
• HB-1229: Bans the private sale of firearms and institutes universal background checks/gun registration for all Colorado gun owners.
Anti-gun Democrats are feeling the heat. Capitol sources say that some Democrats may be wavering in their support of these gun control bills.
It’s not too late to late to contact them urge them, politely, to vote against these anti-gun bills.
Below are links to Facebook, Twitter, and e-mail for Democratic House members who need to hear from gun owners like you. They check their email, Twitter and Facebook accounts on the House floor, so this is GREAT opportunity to put pressure on them.
If you’re not sure what to say, here’s some sample language: “Representative: Please do not penalize Colorado’s law-abiding gun owners. I urge you to vote “NO” on these anti-gun bills (HB-1224, HB-226, HB-1228 & HB-1229).”
