View Full Version : POLL: members with negative feedback
I would like to offer up personally giving up my time to go through each of the feedback threads for each member and putting up a + () and - () amount for each member in the title. I think it is good for people to see who they are dealing with in the forums.
do you agree this should be done? YES or NO.

I'm surprised there isn't something in the board software that would allow for an integrated feedback system similar to Ebay or other sites like that.

Seems like an awfully large investment of time when anyone can do the same on a case by case basis by reading through the thread of the individual they're considering doing business with. It seems like it would take you forever.
Are you going to continually update them on a daily basis as well?

The other problem is maintenance like jhood mentioned.

You snowed in somewhere? If a potential buyer doesn't know how to check the feed back of the seller, Oh well. What you are offering to do is honorable, it's not really necessary.

probably on a monthly or bi-monthly basis, not a chance on a daily.
unless there is some sort of software that can update it automatically. at a minimum, negative feedbacks need to be seen. some members have pages and pages of feedback, all positive. others only have a little bit and have multiple negative feedback.
it would actually be nice to see feedback right next to their username for each post, then no search would be required as it is right in front of you.
There is a feature in this newest version of the software just for feedback. But it is a +1/-1 and doesn't give the option for text describing what happened. Couple that with the number of records we would have to manually convert from text to numeric feedback, and I haven't had the energy.

Only if its something that can easily be done by those posting the feedback and not something the Mods/Admins have to spend any time with.
I recommend when you post in a feedback thread just put a "+" or "-" or "positive" or "negative" in the post title area (see above) keep in mind you have to do a full reply and not use the quick reply to do that.

I like the idea although most members that have accumulated more than a few negative feedbacks rarely stick around too long.
the +/- wouldn't be bad. any negative feedback could be handled in a feedback forum, information on the deal posted, and a mod can decide if the - post is warranted and any action against the guy who welched.
I am just tired of guys who can't keep a commitment. they agree to a price/date/time then back out. And I am far from alone. many people have drove, taken time out of their work day, etc etc etc just to be stood up by someone.

So how would the +/- feedback system have helped you out in your situation anymore than the current system?

I would have seen the recent -1 with only a couple +1 and declined to deal with the member. If someone has +90 and -1, more than likely it was just a difference of opinion. If they have -2 and +3, something is seriously wrong.
Someone left me negative feedback... And I felt it was not justified so I defended my case... In a yes / + or no / - I would still want the option to do so.
All my other positives should trump this one persons -1

Another issue with this, those who BITCH/ post GD how they were screwed over or item never arrived etc., by someone, rarely if ever name names and or actually post a Neg 1 in feed back. If someone deserves a -1 there should be documentation and or pics to validate said statement.
I can't see the feedback yet.

I tried to buy several guns and I was stood up with cash in hand. I just put these individuals on my no contact list. Have not wasted time since I started this practice.

Agree 100%. IMs, texts, emails, pics etc. and a chance for the accused to defend themselves.

-1 for bitching about the rules.

But...but I was whining about the rules, not bitching! There's a difference!

NO !
It is bad enough having the more seasoned members ignore my for sale ads.
If you do something like this, I won't be able my junk to the NOOBs that just got TP privileges and are itching to buy something.......
