View Full Version : I can't believe it....
I found the perfect side mount that I need to put a flashlight on the Ultimak rail on my M1 carbine on eBay, and the seller actually lives here in Parker, same town as me! Yet he won't sell it to me directly, gotta go through eBay and PayPal. He sells all kindsa shit, and there's no way his entire inventory is listed on eBay at the same time, so WTF? Meet me someplace and I'll give ya cash for it!
The same mount is listed on eBay by a LOT of sellers, so it must be a common one, but his BIN price is good, an he's right here in town fer chrissake. I just don't understand people sometimes.
Oh, BTW, this is the mount....anybody know where I can find one just like it locally? In the Denver area? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190798014219&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123
He could have just ended the auction, and met in person.
It would have save him some fees, unless there is/are bidder(s) on the item.

Considering there's a buy it now price, and he's got 8 of them.....I can't see any bids from my phone.

I found a good deal over on arfcom by a local [frt range] seller. He insisted on "shipping it to my ffl" even though it was a 30 min drive for each of us. I passed explaining if my CCW wasn't good enough for a ftf neither was my money. This was for a complete 20" upper. DUDE it's not a serialized item[facepalm]
Why are you putting a flashlight on it? Just curious. I have the same rail, but I could do it to my old war vet.

I have a Plainfield M1 Carbine with an Ultimak rail handguard and red dot sight on it for home defense use. Just want to hang a light on the side as well. It only has one rail, not a quad like an AR.

Might be he is a seller on ebay that does not maintain inventory.
A lot of regular ebay sellers have the item drop-shipped from a wholesaler or manufacturer after the ebay sale is completed.
He has over 29,000 Feedbacks and is an ebay store, so I am guessing he does not keep inventory.

Then why would he say he only has 8 of them? And why is his inventory limited to X number of items? This, to me, is like selling Avon or Amway on eBay and telling your neighbor you can't sell to them, that they have to order through your eBay "store" or eBay will get pissed.
A transaction is between a seller and a buyer. You have something to sell, someone wants to buy it, then sell it to them! Letting 3rd and 4th parties like eBay and PayPal make the rules of how you do business with other people is fucking insane, IMO. If my neighbor sells NcStar scopes and stuff on Ebay, keeps an inventory on shelves in his garage or basement so he can ship from there, and won't let me come over and buy one from him, does that make any sense?
Fuck him, I wouldn't take one now if it were free.

Amazon Prime says it's a 30-day free trial, and after that it's only $79 a year. That's also nuts. And the page you linked shows two other sellers offering this mount for $2.79?! So, if I signed up for Prime, I could get it for $2.79, and shipped free, but after 30 days they're gonna hit me for a $79 membership fee?
Goddamnit, I'd rather walk into a gun shop, see one on the shelf and say "that's what I want, gimme!" Pay cash and leave.

Get real dude. He is running a business- he could have eight or 80. It's not the only thing he's selling. He should take time out of his day and drive somewhere to deliver a $9.00 item because it's convenient for you and you save $3.00 in shipping?
When you spend hundreds or thousands on amazon $79 is nothing for their service. I bought two rifle grips, one I didn't like the other didn't fit. Free return, refunded immediately to my card, they even print the shipping label.
Re your question not all products qualify for prime, so those $3 parts prob have a $6 shipping price.
Prime is not for everyone. If you buy 5 things max online don't use prime. I buy ALOT of stuff on amazon, it's paid its self off in the first few months. I have two kids under 2 and it's easier shop online vs dealing with asshats at the stores.
Welcome to interweb sales drama. +1 on going into a shop and buying a products. Getting harder and harder.
Shoot the seller this thread link. [LOL]

No, I offered to go to HIM. If he's running a business, then he should be willing to DO business, and not by hiding on the internet doing it. If someone local wants to come to your door to buy something you're offering from you, what the fuck is wrong with that? And it's not about the shipping, it's about using PayPal, which I refuse to do.

+1 amazon prime.. Shipping can be real expensive with out it. Btw if you are willing to pay local brick and mortar pricing, then by all mean go to your local store. The reason folks sell online because they have it semi if not all automated. Drop ship + PayPal saves tons of overhead. If I have an online store, I wouldn't want to meet anyone local let alone having my online store doing business with local coloradoans .. Don't want to get caught by Colorado revenue for not charging tax on online transaction. CO is going full libtard.
I had an amazon seller acct til CO passed that tax code
