I have a Leatherman CORE. Got it a few summers back as a gift from my older brother when I started doing sprinklers with him up in parker. Good tool and for that job it was awesome. Did however just order a Leatherman Juice s2 and Squirt PS4 today. Something better for EDC.

My multi of choice as well, except I prefer the needle nose variety. Mine is the stainless, but I'd really like the black version.

I've had a Gerber Fisherman for years that sorely needs upgraded.

Started with a Leatherman about 13 years ago, hated it (sharp edges out when pliers are folded out). Bought a Craftsman and have had one on my hip ever since. Too bad Craftsman doesn't make they anymore, but then, they never did, just a private lable Bear Cutlery. I've been through 2 in those 12 years or so, and I carry it every day, and I am not nice to it. Look them up, more jaw and tool configurations than you can imagine.

Leatherman MUT EOD.. I used it every day on deployment and damn near every day still at work. Also survived a few explosions. Every part is replaceable which is great.

It's only got a few differences compared to the MUT Utility that's above. I must say the bottle opener is my favorite part..

Is the black rod a firesteel, or just a punch?

No,. I'll be honest, I just get one that does what I want, and then keep it it breaks or I loose it. And with the size of the super tool I don't think either will happen anytime soon.

I started with the original Gerber blunt nose years ago, and have worked through several looking for one that has what I want, but not a ton of extras. I carry one all the time for my job, and when we're out with the plane we can't carry a bunch of extra stuff. At the moment I carry a Leatherman Skeletool, and a Kershaw Select Fire with aircraft specific bits. I've been eyeing one of those MUT's for a little while though...if they had them in the BX here I'd probably get it to replace the Skeletool.

If I can't fix it with a sledgehammer then it's not really broken.
