Just saw this. Rt.com (Russia Today) is apparently claiming that Russian air defense shot the meteor down. Didn't realize you could shoot something going 33,000 mph! Please correct me if I'm wrong.

They didn't shoot it down. There was no intercepting rocket trail in the videos where you see it break up.
