Brothers, First I want to say that I am not a Mod here, nor do I own this site, so I have no say in what is posted here. Second, I am not on the moral high ground. I,ll say that again I AM NOT ON THE MORAL HIGH GROUND. With that being said, I want to say this. I failed a brother. I failed a brother because I didn't step up and snatch him up and point out what he was doing wrong, and because of that, there were negative repercussions. Conversly, When I was stepping on the wang, my brother did not slap me upside the head like he should have, and there was negative repercussions. We make mistakes, but we only make them once. It won't happen again. I want to address the recent spate of deleted/locked out threads on this site. Brothers, I understand the whole freedom of speech/lets not be PC/ lets be honest thing, but sometimes there is a time to say what needs to be said, and a time to keep things to yourself. I,m talking about the recent "Obama goes to heaven", Ted Kennedy, Shrapmetal, and Karl P. threads, among others. This is an open site that anyone can read, so what you say reflects on all of us and the gun community at large. I know most of the Mods and if your thread was locked or deleted, it was in the best interest of us all. They all have better things to do than slam your thread, believe me. All I,m trying to say is the next time you (and I'm not picking on any one person, if you are reading this I mean you) have something cute to post, give yourself a moment of pause and think If this is a good thing to post in an open forum with YOUR NAME attached. We should all try to raise ourselves to a higher level. One last thing, I would never hold anyone to standard that I would'nt hold myself to, so I vow to all of you that I will try to do a better job in policing what I post. Lets all try to move each other to the moral high ground. Thanks for your time, Ryan

I totally agree with you Ryan. We all do make stupid mistakes, and alot of us post things we shouldnt. I think it is time that ALL members take 1 step backwards, and review what they are about to say before pushing the little "post" button. It can save alot of headaches in the long run. Not only does it protect people from unwanted and un-needed scrutiny, but it protects yourself, and every other member of this community!

ridiculousEasy there. It helps to have some history under your belt. Things are a bit tumultuous lately. I think the old-timers are just trying to exercise a bit more caution until we can get things sorted out. It's not at all like you're making it out to be.

Let us not forget this is paid for by a private individual not by any gov't funds so freedom of speech doesn't apply. It is akin to someone inviting you in to their home and asking you not to dicuss such things or curse in front of the kids, etc. You have two options, don't discuss it or be asked to leave. It's not a hard concept to understand really.

I totally agree, there needs to be a thread full of the youngsters in poses like that! my good buddy down in texas has a family portrait of all of them holding an AR or equivalent (M4) except his youngest daughter who has a bulpup 10/22 she converted herself!

For the record I have never told anyone that they can't post anything. What I said in a recent thread was, you can post whatever you want, but there may be cases where we lock it or trash it.

And again, I can only think of a handfull of threads that have ever been locked here, and only one or two "real people" that have ever been banned here. We have banned some "unreal people" that is to say bots and spammers.

Up until know we have really tried to allow members to police themselves. And up until know we have done just that. And we will continue to do just that. The mods and managers here have been very hands off for the most part.

But, we do reserve the right to lock or trash a thread if we feel its inappropriate. And that is no different then any other site on the web.

If you have a question or conern, ask me. Or ask a mod. We, like you, are just here to have fun. So hopefully we can get past all this and get back to the fun.

Brothers, Let me step back in. All I'm saying is that sometimes it takes a person to step up and do the harder right and let his friend (or friends) know that MAYBE what they are doing or saying MIGHT not be appropriate at a certain PLACE or TIME. I'm fortunate enough to have a friend like that, I hope you are all do to. If that hurts your feelings, don't worry, I'll get over it. As far as the freedom of speech thing goes: Folks this is a privatly owned site (thanks Roger)and there are limits. That's the whole point of this. Lets be better than the others.

This has gone too far, Its over. The owner has expressed his feelings and wishes for this site.. I"m locking this thread, it's time for everyone to put this all behind us and move on.

If you don't like the policies of the this site, that's your right, but please feel free to exercise one of your other rights of not being here! No one has made anyone come or stay here.

I've already deleted one members account today, at THEIR request. I'll do the same for anyone else, just send me an IM. I'm happy to do so as it makes more room for those that want to be here.
