I remember me and my dad saw Stars Wars (78) like a dozen times the year it came out. Guess what else was popular then as well? DISCO!!!!!!!!

He bought the damn album on 8-track and we listened to the damn thing everytime we went some where in his Datsun. Some good memories of my dad, but the horror of DISCO!!!

Oh my god that is so awesome! My grandfather was a Nebraska Park Ranger, was all big into Western stuff, had a radio show. The guy who played/was the indian was my Grandfather's friend, I met him once during a Nebraska land day event when I was young. I remember my grandfather had a picture of him for the commercial signed "To George, a friend of the Indians." He also had a picture of the two of them in a frame on the wall. They use to go shooting and hunting together.

The crying Indian commercial was a powerful one in the early 70s. It seemed like that one and the "I'd like to buy the world a Coke" commercial were running CONSTANTLY

These commercials bring back some great memories. I also remember getting our first color TV...a big, 8 or 10 foot long Curtis Mathes console TV with a Hi-Fi stereo built into it.

Two giant knobs for tuning and a giant push/pull button. No remote and rabbit ears.

And you only got 3 channels unless you lived in a big city. If you did you might get a UHF channel in addition to the networks.

The three networks and a local station. The local station always had the best Saturday morning cartoons.

You guys make me feel so young. The oldest I remember is a commercial for some TYCO toy tank that always played on my Brave Little Toaster tape.

^This. For some reason, I used to like the Timex commercials with John Cameron Swayze! And, as has been mentioned, the "Hey Mikey, he likes it!" Life cereal commercials. And Quispy Quakes and Ovaltine and Tang (astronauts) and...

Oh, and the TV was BLACK AND WHITE! Yeah, I'm that old. And listening to the radio, there were many commercials I remember.

Oh yeah, only B&W commercials should be on here. Color commercials don't count, they're not "old".
