Our thoughts and best wishes are sent to the members of the Pueblo Police Department following the loss of Officer Nicholas Heine last week.
Officer Nicholas Heine suffered a fatal heart attack as he and several other officers were attempting to break up several bar fights in the area of Victoria Avenue and C Street. He was running down the street when he suddenly collapsed.
Other officers rendered medical aide and he was transported to Parkview Medical Center, where he died a short time later.
Officer Heine had served with the Pueblo Police Department for 9 years. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, and his mother, who also serves with the Pueblo Police Department.

Also our thoughts and best wishes to the family of Paul Moraine, a friend and fellow ham (N0PWM,) who died of a heart attack last week. Paul was one of the RACES officers with the El Paso County Sheriff's Department and had begun mentoring my son to be a HAM.
Both have left us far to soon.
