I removed his name for his and my privacy. Mr.Morse knows him but of course blew him off. Personally I like this letter and believe that it is sad that that the focus of our legislators is on removing our rights, but NOT on the mental health issues where it should be. I pray regardless what happens in the next few months that these legislators will feel our wrath when the votes are counted in the upcoming elections. Mr.Morse seems to be focused on getting appointed to something on the Federal level. Either way as I understand he won his district by a very small margin in the Springs. I hope that our Freedom loving voting residents in Colorado Springs look at voting this man out of office, or better yet recalling him from office before the next election cycle. I hope that all of us will do our best to put a stop to this madness that has fallen upon us. I hope to be doing my my own high fives with all of you if we can stop this. The would be a victory for the people not for someones personal agenda for these legislators. We are a powerful, group and our voices will be eventually heard.
Dear Sir:
I am a retired police officer (CSPD 29 years & elected county sheriff 3-years).
I am writing this letter on behalf of all of the law abiding gun owners of Colorado. I previously contacted Senator John Morse from Colorado Springs with no results. Not Surprising! I won’t waste a lot of your valuable time & will get right to the point! We honestly believe that the only thing that the new gun laws will do is to drive more businesses from Colorado (Magpul Industries) for example! We do not believe that the proposed new laws will have a positive effect in reducing gun violence! We believe that more could be accomplished in strengthening the family unit, prosecuting those who have been identified as falsifying gun purchase applications, enforcing existing state statutes, a mandatory sentence of 10 years if convicted of a crime involving use of a gun, & identifying those people who are mentally incompetent to possess or use a gun & preventing them from doing so.
With the thought in mind of the current economic condition & economic future of Colorado you should be aware of another pro guns right movement that is gaining increasing support & momentum throughout the state & country. This movement is titled Boycott Colorado & will focus on the over 300,000 out of state hunters who visit our state each year. The movement will also ask for support on a national basis from the millions of second amendment supporters who believe that their own constitutional rights are being threatened by the assault on the second amendment rights of law abiding citizens in Colorado! This endeavor is under the radar & has not at this time been endorsed by either the NRA or The National Association For Gun Rights. Both organizations have been advised & asked to support this movement & we are hoping for their support in the future if necessary!
We were all heart-broken at the tragedies which occurred In Aurora & Connecticut! All we are asking is that common sense solutions be enacted after input from both the democrat & republican representatives in Colorado government! I was very disappointed when I observed the democrat majority ‘high fiving’ each other after the meeting on February 15, 2013! What are they celebrating anyway?!!
In closing, please don’t penalize the law abiding gun owners of Colorado! Please don’t enact laws that will only succeed in driving more business organizations from our state & encourage hunters & second amendment supporters to boycott our state & further damage our already fragile economy! Governor Hickenlooper, We are counting on you to make a wise decision based only on facts & to initiate common sense solutions to the problems we are facing!
Thank you for listening!
Respectfully Submitted,
