View Full Version : Bait and Bullet: A First For Me!!!!
Ok, yesterday the wife and I head down to BP Tactical. We stop at WalMart, and KMart in Brighton just see if there was any 22 on the way there. No Joy!
So, on the way back. I remember that there was a little shop in Brighton called Bait and Bullet. Figured why not try there, even though I had bad experiences there in the past. We get there, start just browsing, and the guy asked if we neede help. I just ask him if he had any 22lr. As I ask, I see about 8-9 boxes.
Here's the kicker, he turns around points at them and says yes! Immediately in my head, and agreed by the wife. We were just going to clean him out. But before we could even say anything, this is what he said.
"You cant buy any 22lr., unless you buy a gun!!"
That would explain why he's still sitting on it. I should have learned from my last time there! Never Again!!
(Mods, please move if in wrong place)
They seem to have found a fitting name for the store....
Ive seen a few store do that, they save a box of ammo for every gun they have in that caliber, so if you buy a weapon from them you can at least have a box of ammo for it.

That's crap, I have heard nothing but bad things about that place. They will never get a dime from me.

That's F-D up. I would just start laughing and tell him to pound sand! Report him the BBB.

This easily takes the Comment Of The Day Award.

Which is a great thing to do for your firearms customers as long as you aren't dangling the ammo to try and make the firearm sale. If I were to do that, the "reserved" ammo would be behind a closed door somewhere, not out on the shelf as bait.

I went there once and the guy is a dickhead he must own the building. It is Brightons local gun shop but I don't know anybody who shops there. If you ask to handle anything he gets his panties in a bunch I've been to just about every gun shop in Colorado and I would have to say bait and bullet takes the prize for the worst. This was before the madness but pretty much all of the gun stores are full of dickheads now. I haven't had a enjoyable experiance at any gun store since sandy hook. They all act pretty much like DMV employees with serious attitudes and it pisses me off cause I've spent thousands of dollars at some of these stores.

There's another gun shop in town now - Kopp's Tactical on Main St. just north of Bridge. Did my lower transfer through there. Friendly, willing to help. I'll do business with them again.
Nothing nice to say about the place.

Sure wish I would've read these reviews before I stepped in there the other day. Everything that has been previously said about this shop is 100% accurate. The older guy behind the counter was a raging asshole. He about bit off the head of a customer who went to touch a S&W M&P 15-22 that he had out on his work bench. I noticed he had some PMC .223 at a decent price. I have plenty so I didn't inquire about it. My guess is, he would've thrown out the "You can't buy any unless you buy a gun" line. I was far from impressed by the store and will never set a foot in there again. Next time I'm up that way, I'll check out the other store mentioned above.
