I won't name the indiviual, but is someone I worked with in the oil fields who is member of this board. He was injured at work but due to the way the oilfield works he LOST his worker's comp case and is now out of a job and income. He does not own a suit and cannot do manual type labor due to a knee injury. He has a CDL with tanker and hazmat and could do a "no touch" type of truck driving job or inside sales or something like that. Please job any jobs you know of in the Loveland, Greeley, Fort Collins, Longmont area. He lives in Loveland, but may be able to commute a little bit.

Thanks, I have seen that thread, but was trying to drill down to something specific and I know there are folks who only read the General Discussion. That being said, I promise not to be offended if a Mod moves this one over there.

how do you lose a worker's comp case where you are injured at work?
WTF is that about?

You report it, but because it is the oilfield you decline treatment at the time (fear of being branded a pussy). You go home for your 2 weeks an dcome back to work where they proclaim you hurt yourself while at home and are trying to scam the system.

I testified at his hearing about the injuries I sustained and never reported because, as a full timer and not 2 week person, I would never moved up. Now a year later after 2 broken fingers I am starting to develop arthritis. Nothing I can do about it. As for my friend, he is basically screwed because he was "flex crew" and went home for 2 weeks, worked for 2 weeks, went home for 2 weeks... The companies lawyers claimed he must have done it at home because the oilfield is very safe and he would have gotten treatment right then. Also, no witnesses for him, but plenty for the company.

Same thing in a sexual harrasment suit another friend is going through. Plenty of people to step forward on behalf of the company, 3 or 4 to step forward for the guy who got a someone's crank in his face. (Lucky for him it wasn't me or I would be in prison)

"That guy" Does not mind being known on here. He has a resume on Monster, and he can go buy a suit if needed. Driving all day in a tractor would be not so good. He has a lot of sales and management in his resume. He is a real nice guy as well...[Tooth] He is looking to be a mfg. rep. or Industrial sales...
Thanks for the heads up CJ and yeah, My lawyer thought it was a shoe in but thats why workers comp sucks. Its out there to protect the employer not the employee. But I can move on past this...I am not a W/C junkie or anything like that.
