What made them liberal?
I would really like to know...seen a lot of families that have a few libtard in them (great genes must skip some kids) theyare away less than successful then non-libtards...
i feel like my parents just turned against me because of my beliefs. When they found out that I am not an Obama fan, they started trying to make me feel like my success is changing me. I went from needing to file bankruptcy, to real estate investing. I just turned 28 and am now self employed investing in real estate, got my 10th rental home after being in the game 18months. My parents never were this way but in the last few years, I could see them becoming more and more discouraged and ultimately lazier. My mom is a realtor, my dad has a fence company. My mom has sat around doing nothing and basically got business only from properties that I needed her services. My wife got her real estate license for her property mgmt company so she has been writing all contracts for us and the money saved is rolled back into the deal. She blew up at me recently for me buying a $420k home and not basically giving her a free $12k commission, completely ignoring that my wife did all the work and saved us the money. My mom refuses to understand that the money doesn't just appear. Now they tell me that I am a "user" and my wife is the worst thing that happened to the family. They also, during the elections, said that the money has changed me and my father in law brainwashed me because he is wealthy and voting Romney. My parents say the only way i am successful is by "preying on the poor/middleclass people" and that i must be doing something illegal if i am successful in todays economy. Needless to say, they want King Obama to eliminate taxes for them, hold me accountable for a higher tax burden, and that I have bailed on my family because i won't give them any freebies. I was raised properly by these people and taught the ways by them, but they have given up and changed their views on achieving success. If they cant, No one can....

Isnt it awsome, they level of projection,
fact in the usual "dont tax me dont tax thy,tax the the man hiding behind the tree" complex, they want to pay in very little or in most if not all cases pay nothing at all and then make others how have earned large sums of money should pay more all the while whining about fairness....
glad to see you are bouncing back..I love it when people raise above it.. success is the best revenge
You're a bad person for working hard, bettering yourself and providing for your family the best way you can. Shame on you.

Money...always broke despite 6 figure income.
Toilets havent been cleaned in a few years.

My mom is a Southern Democrat. She just loves Hillary, thinks she is a strong woman speaking her mind. Typical Kennedy/60's Dem, loves her Union and has no issue with .gov entitlement programs. Supports hunting and owns guns, but has literally told me she doesnt understand why anyone needs an UZI. She works for a contractor to the VA Hospital and is a member of her Union there, loves it and makes fun of management a lot, typical labor vs management BS that lots of folks think has been long gone.
She doesnt really talk politics with me anymore. Too many scandals and she is not stupid, she sees Obaloney for who he is, and what is going on out there. However she wants to believe the crap they spew so badly it seems as if she just clings to the hope there is another Kennedy out there. I think there are a lot of Dems out there just like that, hoping their party will recover, believing in the sewage they are being fed because if they admit the truth they would have to come to their senses, cross the aisle and become, *GASP* a Republican.
My step-dad is non-political, but I think he views Obaloney in the same light any Southern redneck would, and I will just leave that as enough said.
No idea what my brothers leanings are.
Success? Not sure how to measure this one, parents are both nearing retirement, Mom is Union and doing OK, Dad is non-Union and doing better. They own their house, cars, and pretty much everything else. I would bet their total debt including this months unpaid utilities is less than $5000.
Middle brother is a fuck-up, bet he is in debt quite a bit and broke, cant seem to keep a job
Youngest brother does OK, but he is or at least was a pot-smoking dumbass with little to no ambition.
ETA-
College? I am the only one in my family to ever go to college.
Debt? Covered that above
Money? Most of my family, with the exception of my brothers, use money wisely.
Taxes? My family hates paying taxes, but again, every one but myself has no issue raising taxes on the "rich"
Happy? Thats a long conversation, but generically my parents are happy, my youngest brother is happy (easy to be happy with no ambition) and my middle brother is always pissy because he cant keep a job for whatever reason.
Covered my parents, my middle brother used to own a landscape company but got out of it nd is a production line welder now, or at least he was last year. Youngest brother has been a chef at an O'Charleys for the last 10 years.
Victims? Parents not really any more than any Union member thinks of themselves as a victim, middle brother definitely, I doubt my youngest brother even thinks about it.
Of course they blame Bush. Stupid question.
No idea how they view me.
I would not call my family liberal as much as Democrat, there is a difference. They absolutely believe in gun ownership, hunting, fishing, etc. and at the same time believe in welfare, handouts, etc. I doubt they believe in or give a rats ass about gay marriage, abortion, or other social liberal agendas. They absolutely believe the .gov is out to fuck them, the same way they believe big business is out to fuck them. My parents have always talked about starting a business but never have because of all the .gov red tape and BS involved.

My wife's mother's side are extremely, almost radically liberal. Her mother made it out just fine, is a conservative, and just recently bought her first gun! But, for the purposes if these questions, I will describe my wife's aunt.....
Do they make as much or more then you do?
No. She has had probably 10 jobs in the last 5 years, and for some reason can not hold one down for longer than a few weeks. She believes entry level jobs are beneath her, and yet has never held a title above that in her 45+ years.
Successful as you are?
Not at all. I am in my twenties, married, have an amazing job, spent 4 years in the Corps, and my wife is about to graduate and become a teacher. Her aunt still lives with her parents, is single, and owns 2 cats and a beat up Honda.
What did they go to college for?
Biology. Got her degree and even got a cert. afterwards in pharmacology. Does absolutely nothing with those degrees...
How much debt do they have?
I would imagine that she has quite a bit of CC debt, as she used to live on her own but really had either no job or was just waiting tables.
Do they use the money wisely?
I'm not really sure...
Do they want to raise taxes others but notwant to pay said taxes?
She is a party line voter, so anything the Dem's want is what she wants.
How do they act? Happy? Or filled with spitand bitterness?
Spite and bitterness for those with more success. Hatred towards pro-lifers, hatred towards tea-partiers, and rabid hatred towards pro-gunners.
What do they do for a living?
Nothing. Mooch of the government, mooch off of her liberal parents.
Do they think of themselves as victims?
My God yes.
Do they still blame Bush for the economy?
Bush destroyed the civilized world, Obama only has 8 measly years to try to pick up the pieces!
How do they view you and everyone else who does not share their twisted view of the world?
As a threat to the very fabric of society, and as a collective group of redneck retards.
What made them liberal?
I would assume her parents contributed, but her lack of ambition and subsequent lack of success probably was a key factor.
My Cousin is a liberal, well actually all 4 of my cousins (mom's side) voted for Obama, but I'll just talk about the recovered addict who is the only one out of the four to have a child (out of wedlock of course). Although my aunt and uncle (mom's sister & B.I.L.) voted for Obama the first time around, they got smart and realized he's bad for America and didn't vote for him this time around. [Beer]
"Do they make as much or more then you do? Are they as
Successful as you are?"
No. She's a hairdresser/drug counselor, still needs food stamps and welfare to provide for her son.
"What did they go to college for?"
N/A
"How much debt do they have?"
Depends on which debt you're talking about- probably a lot in terms of credit cards and what not, borrowed THOUSANDS from her parents over the years, probably still not even 1/2 paid off.
"Do they use the money wisely?"
No, not really.
"Do they want to raise taxes others but not want to pay said taxes?"
Definitely.
"How do they act? Happy? Or filled with spite and bitterness?"
She is happier now that she kicked her drug habit, but still a little bitter about things.
"What do they do for a living?"
See #1.
"Do they think of themselves as victims?"
Big hell yes.
"Do they still blame Bush for the economy?"
She blames Bush for EVERYTHING.
"How do they view you and everyone else who does not share their twisted view of the world?"
She views me in high regard because of my military service, and for some strange reason she's pro gun and likes my opinion.
"What made them liberal?"
Her always being the victim, lazy, and typical 'I don't want to work/the world owes me something' attitude. I still love her, but her parents couldn't get through to her last year for the election, and she's on the .gov tit, so she doesn't want to change that anytime soon.
Any of my family that is liberal won't talk to me about politics. Something about me being condescending and not taking their opinion into consideration...not sure I was too busy showing them how they are wrong.

I have an uncle who has always been a brain dead liberal. Former hippie that went into journalism (was anchor of his local TV station's news in Oklahoma in the 80s, went on to be an aid to some leftard congress critter from OK soon after, eventually became a college level debate coach at Emporia St University in KS. Now he's got some sort of private sector job working for some government contractor doing God knows what).
Do they make as much or more then you do? Are they as
Successful as you are?
More money, yes. More success? That's a bit subjective so I dunno.
What did they go to college for?
Has degree in Journalism and forensics (debate, not CSI)
How much debt do they have?
Don't know.
Do they use the money wisely?
Don't know for sure. He makes more money than I and lives in an area of the country much cheaper then where I live (Ottawa Ks) but doesn't seem to have a whole lot (which either means he's frugal or he wastes a lot of money ... dunno which)
Do they want to raise taxes others but not want to pay said taxes?
Not sure how he pays taxes, not sure if he uses tax shelters of any kind, but definitely thinks "the rich" aren't paying "their fair share".
How do they act? Happy? Or filled with spit and bitterness?
He's very happy-go-lucky ... blissful in his ignorance.
What do they do for a living?
I outlined that above. Currently has some sort of white collar job working for a non-military government contractor (not sure exactly what he does or what they do).
Do they think of themselves as victims?
Personally, no. But everyone else is a victim of the evils of greedy white Republicans.
Do they still blame Bush for the economy?
Mostly. What he doesn't blame on Bush he blames on Reagan.
How do they view you and everyone else who does not share their twisted view of the world?
He thinks the rest of us are brainwashed idiots and paranoid because we don't share his love of all things Government.
What made them liberal?
Coming of age in the late 60s ... he's always been fat and ugly but he was able to nail hippy chicks because he looks kinda like Jerry Garcia.
I would really like to know...seen a lot of families that have a few libtard in them (great genes must skip some kids) they are away less than successful then non-libtards...
Compared to his brother and sister (my father and aunt. he's the youngest, my father the oldest and my aunt in the middle) he's not as successful as my aunt who frankly married well (her husband used to own the a country radio station in Topeka and they're pretty socially and politically connected there). My father is a Viet Nam veteran who has always held decent jobs but never achieved great success (but no great failures either).
Side note, My father raised two staunch conservatives. My aunt raised one somewhat conservative former Navy medic turned nurse and the liberal uncle has raised two kids (well, his ex wife raised them in Texas) and both of them are liberals. One an extremely obnoxious, angry, unpleasant OWS type (who's probably gay) and the other, a doughy housewife that is really probably only liberal because her parents were and is mostly apolitical (my cousin is a nice enough girl ... not incredibly bright though).

My brother and I are the only non Liberals in our entire family... with cousins, aunts and uncles, its a big family. I'm sure my father wonders often where he went wrong [facepalm]
Do they make as much or more then you do? Are they as
Successful as you are?
I refer to my husband and I in all of this because we are a bit old school and I don't work, by choice. In general my relatives don't make as much as we do, even when you combine most of them... I can also say with a lot of confidence that we are much happier then them as well.
What did they go to college for?
Mostly accounting if they went. There is one who was a law student and is climbing up the political ladder as we speak. Even had some bigwigs like Ritter at his wedding not long ago.
How much debt do they have?
Not sure but the hippie sector is broke as can be. I'm sure my cousins that went to college had mommy and daddy pay quite a bit of their way.
Do they use the money wisely?
In short, No. Long story - the hippies ask for handouts from the family quite a bit ( like a wheelchair for their ancient dog that could no longer walk). One group lives in a house that their parents bought for them. Basically all of the kids are still completely dependent on their parents because they can't cut it on their own, even the ones in their 40's. All of the parents are too soft to let their kids grow up and fail, it would make them look bad.
Do they want to raise taxes others but notwant to pay said taxes?
My dad is the only one I talk to about this. He works for himself and has his entire career as a CPA. He isn't bothered in the least by having to pay more in taxes, even as a small business owner. He is one of the most successful people I know and spends less money by far than anyone I know.
How do they act? Happy? Or filled with spitand bitterness?
I don't spend time with most of the family unless I have to and politics haven't come up yet at funerals or weddings. The couple I hear from only because we are on fb seem to be too spineless/politically correct to say much more than their political propaganda slogans. My dad is a bit bitter, and he insists on using the childish names so many of the Liberals seem to. It drives me up the wall. He still won't accept that we actually believe what we do.
What do they do for a living?
CPA, accountant, politics, jobless and living in a van following some band around, a few artists, teachers, and currently on unemployment.
Do they think of themselves as victims?
Yes, most of them do. The one on unemployment "has worked the last 50 years and deserves the unemployment" that she's getting now. That's what she says, at least.
Do they still blame Bush for the economy?
Yes.
How do they view you and everyone else whodoes not share their twisted view of the world?
I think my dad's proud of us but like I said, he doesn't buy that we actually believe what we do. He comes over and makes comments like "can you believe those guys want to keep their assault rifles? No one needs clips that hold more than x bullets". Then my wonderful husband educates him and he leaves agreeing with us until next week. I don't talk to the rest of my family much anymore but I'm sure they are disturbed by my choices. My hippie aunt unfriended us on fb because we asked her what she thought of the teacher's union. So she thinks we are devils and that I've been brainwashed by "The Man", whoever that is. She's also disappointed that I stay home with the kids and that we vaccinate them. But they are more well behaved and rounded then most of the kids I see out there so she can shove it up her arse.
What made them liberal?
No clue. The Man?
I remember my first paycheck was the moment I started to question their beliefs. Since then its all been uphill for me :) I've got less family but more people that I trust.
I would really like to know...seen a lot of families that have a few libtard in them (great genes must skip some kids) theyare away less than successful then non-libtards...
I went from needing to file bankruptcy, to real estate investing. I just turned 28 and am now self employed investing in real estate, got my 10th rental home after being in the game 18months...

Thank you, after the 3-4 house, they literally fall into your lap. It worked out for me because I was very used to budgeting. Wife and I lived on $45k/yr and acted like this new income didn't exist. If you can do that, It grows very quickly. Don't be afraid to partner with people either. I partner on all of my deals because my credit is still recovering from my previous issues so I bring the cash to get in, the other guy has the credit for long term financing and we partner cash flow and profit 50/50 or I give him the monthly cash flow on the rental in exchange for the equity when we sell it. Either way, it's not a get rich quick but it definitely is win/win.

My immediate family is all good, 2nd supporting, and wyoming property seekers... Extended family, males are all 2nd supporters, females are a waste of humanity. All supporters of the current administration, and can't backup why they did it...brain cells do not exist on female cousins.

So I lost my sister today.
My eldest sister lives in Jackson WY and I have always known she harbored liberal views. I called her to get an idea about property values, taxes etc.
She asks me why and I tell her due to pending legislation I may be relocating up thataway.
She goes on a roll how nobody needs more than five rounds, nobody is going to make you turn in your guns yadayadayada.....
I expected that but she floored me when she told me this: " The Constitution is out dated, it was written 200 years ago and times change and I think the Second Amendment should just be stricken as it serves no purpose anymore".
I told her not to ever let her father (WWII Vet) hear here say that.
She said nothing and then said she had to go.
Fawk!
Sorry to hear it, Bert. Let me know if I can do anything for you.

I brought my father along into the culture, terminology, and operation of the gun (or so I thought). I remember him being absolutely astonished that I knew how to disassemble his dad's WWII Navy issue 1911A1; he had never even fired it. I got him to buy his first rifle at a Big 5 Mosin Nagant sale. Fast forward a few years. I call him about a month ago to talk, and he mentions Newtown, so I mention our recently detailed House Bills. He floors me by ranting about civilians owing automatic weapons and all the crimes done with them. I ask him "Where do you get this automatic weapons stuff from?" He clams up for a few seconds and I know that he's been watching MSNBC. It's been tense ever since.
My father was conservative. He worked in the Nuclear weapons community most of his life. We were very close. Masters in Physics, Columbia. My mother was a liberal. BA in Music, Univ. of VA. She and I hadn't spoken in 30 years when she died. My sister is a liberal. Lives in GA. She"s a perpetual victim. We don"t speak unless she calls for money. I told her no 3 years ago and haven't heard from her since. My brother is a true southern democrat. Married 6 times, 3 kids by different women (all wives), 5 DUI's. He owns guns but voted for Obama.
My wife's family is all liberals. The saving grace is they're all hard working and self-employed. Most are heavy gun owners and all of them are very nice to me or keep their distance. My wife is pretty conservative. She makes me look a little left from time to time. We've been together 27 years. It's a pretty solid family.
I look at liberalism the same way I look at down syndrome. It affects my family and there's not a damn thing I can do about it.
My sister in law is the worst we've got. She just asked what kind of gun she should get.
Success...very limited. She is an intellectual dog groomer. Far superior to her redneck gun nut brother in law.

I have these questions for you.
Do they make as much or more then you do? Are they as
Successful as you are?
No. Depends on definition of success
What did they go to college for?
Speech therapy, Nursing, None
How much debt do they have?
One of them very little. The others, they need a bailout
Do they use the money wisely?
Only one
Do they want to raise taxes others but notwant to pay said taxes?
Raise taxes, I'm pretty sure two of them don't pay taxes.
How do they act? Happy? Or filled with spitand bitterness?
Spit and bitterness. Miserable
What do they do for a living?
Retired, Others are working for they had no retirement plans
Do they think of themselves as victims?
Is there any other way of thinking?
Do they still blame Bush for the economy?
Bush, Reagan, and any other Republican you can name.
How do they view you and everyone else who does not share their twisted view of the world?
Now this is funny. For every liberal I've ever debated will instantly call me ignorant. Yet, I politely listen to and consider their views but they wont listen to a word I'm saying.
What made them liberal?
Stupidity? Lack of ambition? Lack of responsibility, drive, ambition, logic, reason and morals. Some of the crap they say and post on Facebook is pretty disgusting yet they think it's all good and how it should be.
I would really like to know...seen a lot of families that have a few libtard in them (great genes must skip some kids) theyare away less than successful then non-libtards...
I'm seeing a pattern here. When I compare my Mother in law, step dad and some other friends, they all easily fit that template. Except for Bush. Most of them blame Reagan. They are all boomers, half former hippies, the other half weren't. One of my friends was an air traffic controller who was fired by Reagan. Ever since then, he's hated the right and took the role of the victim. He does own guns and surprisingly we have not butted heads on gun control. Though we've gone rounds on Obamacare and anything else Obama or the left.
thank you for you service to the republic...how and why is she liberal? what made her that way? please dont tell me she has kids?
any reason why feels that way torwards tea-partiers and pro gunners?

I can't read it. Its so laden with grammatical error and improper word choice it makes my brain hurt.

Same here- I made it through one-three sentences (can't tell) and thought "Good God man, is your space bar broken?" It was mix of that and TL;DR.
