At the start of the session legislative Democrats were confident to the point of cocky about their gun control legislation. Only a few weeks later, after a national controversy erupted (http://coloradopeakpolitics.com/2013/02/18/dont-shoot-the-rapist-salazar-fears-for-bystanders-during-confused-rape/) over Rep. Joe Salazar’s (D-Thornton) remarks about rape and Magpul Industries threatened to leave the state (http://coloradopeakpolitics.com/2013/02/20/jobs-who-needs-em-high-capacity-magazine-ban-causing-out-of-state-pols-to-recruit-colorado-company/) over a proposed high capacity magazine ban, the issue has shifted, and fast.
And there is no Colorado politician better attuned to the shifting winds of the Colorado electorate than Governor John Hickenlooper.

In other words, we ARE making ourselves heard. Keep the pressure on!

I read that article earlier too....i'm really hoping it doesn't even make it to his office and is dead before then.

No doubt, our best option is to try to kill them in committee in the Senate, but they are dominated by virulent Democrats that will rubber stamp them to the Senate floor.

they will not die in senate committee. the members were selected for that.

I hold a slim shred of hope they'll die on the floor. really though, planning on 2014

I believe that while he may not sign the CC one, he will sign the other 3.

His Facebook page has been blown up with people expressing their opposition. I am not naive enough to think he's reconsidering his stance based on the facts, but rather counting on his ability to see which way the political wind is blowing. If he wants ANY kind of political career after his first term as Governor, he'll carefully consider his moves.

Don't relax yet folks. We have a long road ahead. All of the bills have not even been submitted yet. The gun grabbers would like to see the pressure let off and then seize that moment.

Talk with respect (I know it can be difficult) and always thank them for their service and time.

The Gun laws are his ticket to O's admin. he has been courted for a few years not. A lot of money for his .gov bid came from....................you guessed it.

The ,gov doesn't have to sign anything. If he does not veto them and does not sign them, they become law anyway. It's hick's or any other gov's way of abstaining or being absent on a critical vote. This way it appears he was not in favor, yet allowed them to become law.

aye, just thinking if the shitstorm over CC gets too big he might kill that one so he isn't associated with it. Signing by waiting 30 days is just signing with protest.
