I'm guilty of being the guy at work who has almost never seen movies people talk about. "Where are all the white women at?" "Don't bogart that joint my friend....." "What knockers!" Terri Garr didn't age well.

Never bothered watching Easy Rider longer than it took me to change the channel -- just didn't (and still don't) have any interest in the subject matter but I'm a sucker for Mel Brooks or Clint Eastwood movies.

I saw it(E.R.) a few months ago and it looks very aged. Film techniques and effects and acting. Just very dated. I had a hard time watching it all the way thru. When it came out it was "the shit", most cool movie for it's time.

Funny your the one mentioning it- When I 1st got on this site and seen your avatar, the first thing that came to mind was; easy rider.... You just need to chop the bike a bit and throw some apes on it and you are GTG....

I first saw Easy Rider with my older cousin who was in a 1% club. He warned me before we watched it, "This is not a biker movie, it's a counter culture movie." He was right, revolutionary for it's time but not really a biker movie.

I'm still waiting for the "What's VHS or Beta?"

I never saw Easy Rider, but then again I watched many a movie with my dad, and he had a deep seated hatred for the Fondas

I'm old, seen them all at the movie houses when first released.

Its the new stuff I don't watch, nothing original, just Shakespeare stories with the story line reorganized and he got the story ideas from the ancients.

Although I did like the new version of Dredd.[Coffee]

And Itherefore have even less interest in watching it. I don't place Peter Fonda in exactly the same category as his treasonous bitch sister (I saw some special once where Peter at least mentioned taking his grandchildren(?) shooting) but I have exactly zero interest in watching counter culturalists engaging in mutual mental masturbation. We should have offered all the Commie sympathizing a-holes a free one-way trip to their supposed people's paradises in Soviet Russia and Cuba.

UncleDave
02-21-2013, 12:24
It was not really a communist friendly piece. It was more along the lines total freedom, free love, drugs, and the open road. It showed respect for living off the land, working hard in order to live life on your terms. It starts off with them making a butt load of money on a coke deal and using that to finance a life of no limits.

I'm stuck in this pit, working for less than slave wages. Working on my day off, the goddamn steel shutters are closed, I deal with every backward ass fuck on the planet. I smell like shoe polish. My ex-girlfriend is catatonic after fucking a dead guy. And my present girlfriend has sucked 36 dicks.

Classic line Jim. I remember the first time I saw that movie. I saw it in the theater at some artsy fartsy place near the local college. I had no clue what I was walking into. Friends just kept on telling me to go see it and would tell me nothing more about the film. After I saw it... I was like WTF did I just watch. It really was a movie that changed movies.

Bart: Well, Jim, since you are my guest and I am your host, what's your pleasure? What do you like to do?
Jim: Oh, I don't know. Play chess... screw...
Bart: Well, let's play chess.

Taggart: We'll work up a Number 6 on 'em.
Lamarr: "Number 6"? I'm afraid I'm not familiar with that one.
Taggart: Well, that's where we go a-ridin' into town, a-whompin' and a-whumpin' every livin' thing that moves within an inch of its life. Except the women folks, of course.

Lamarr: I want you to round up every vicious criminal and gunslinger in the west. Take this down.
Lamarr: I want rustlers, cut throats, murderers, bounty hunters, desperados, mugs, pugs, thugs, nitwits, halfwits, dimwits, vipers, snipers, con men, Indian agents, Mexican bandits, muggers, buggerers, bushwhackers, hornswogglers, horse thieves, bull dykes, train robbers, bank robbers, ass-kickers, shit-kickers and Methodists.
Taggart: Could you repeat that, sir?

I have a copy on VHS too... that's one of my favorite movies. If you ask me it's 1,000,000 times better than the Nick Cage remake, and (some might hit me) I think it's a better chase scene than Bullitt.

Speaking of Blazing Saddles, I'm shocked no one has posted these yet:
