All gun club members are urged to help. If you can help and are not a member please do. Thanks
Good seeing you at the meeting Tuesday night. Here are the main points that
I made last night and the action items where we would like to encourage
support from the club.
A group of us have created two websites:
www.recallmikemclachlan.com (http://www.recallmikemclachlan.com)
and
www.coloradoaccountability.com (http://www.coloradoaccountability.com)
The first site is intended to bring awareness to the actions of Rep.
McLachlan in his YES vote on all four of the current gun control measures in
the Colorado House of Representatives. In addition to his yes vote, he was
responsible for recommending the 15 round limit in the Judiciary Committee.
He did not in anyway oppose these measures and support the 2nd Amendment as
he stated he would during his campaign.
As such our group is organizing like-minded individuals that want to get
involved in the recall effort. We have not yet filed the petition and plan
to do so early next week. Once we file the petition and it is approved by
the Secretary of State, we will need to gather approximately 12,000
signatures within 60 days in order to force a special election. We will need
lots of grass roots support to accomplish this goal.
Our immediate call to action is to demonstrate to Mr. McLachlan how serious
we are by showing up this Saturday morning at the League of Women Voters
Legislative Lowdown where Mr. McLachlan and Senator Roberts will be
answering questions about the 2013 legislative calendar. We encourage as
many people as possible to be there to represent how important our 2nd
Amendment rights are to us and dominate the questions and agenda of the
meeting.
What: Legislative Lowdown 2013
Hosted by the League of Women Voters
Who: Representative Mike McLachlan
Senator Ellen Roberts
Where: Durango Public Library
When: 9:30 am to 11:00 am
We would appreciate if this message could be emailed to the club membership
to encourage support this Saturday morning. For more information, please
visit both of the websites above or email 2AForColoradoD%(@gmail.com (http://gmail.com).
