View Full Version : Savage Stock Suggestions?
I am wanting a new stock for my 93R17's stock stock.
Thinking... thumbhole and long forearm for benchrest with a spot for a bipod.
Wood/Laminate were my first choice, but now that I saw Hosers AICS, I think I could do Poly also (but it sounds like they dont do rimfire...)
rifle-stocks.com is the first place I checked, but wanted to see if you guys had any suggestions.

Boyds is your best bet. I had an Evolution on my 93r17 before I sold it.
Yup, Boyd's makes nice stocks. I have one on my MK II.

I've got my Mark II-FV (22lr) in a Boyds Thumbhole Nutmeg stock and I absolutely love it! It is MUCH better than the plastic stock and worth every penny.
And nearly any wood stock you can install a sling stud to install a bipod, all it takes is a drill, making sure you are on the absolute bottom/middle of the stock, and drilling into the wood a little bit.
Well... That's like 3-4 votes for Boyd's... Guess. Know where to go
Thanks guys! Pics to follow

How did you like your Evolution? I keep meaning to change out the stocks on our 17's and like the evolution, just didn't know how good it would be for prairie dog shooting of tall bipods.
