Taurus PT99. I can't seems to find much info about this gun. Anyone with experience?

No need to comment on how it's unpatriotic for been a copy of our military standard issue. Berretta is Italian, never full American. If I want a patriotic pistol it's gonna be a 1911, and I can't afford a good one for now, so i'll wait.

Probably one of the better Taurus items, allegedly built on old Beretta tooling. Taurus has a lifetime warranty, it is also the warranty we saw exercised the most. May as well plan on sending it to Taurus if anything ever goes wrong, a large amount of parts are not available except at the factory. Some Beretta parts may interchange but no guarantee on that, Taurus is well known for "propritary" parts.

You just made me don't want one. I'll take the word of the gunsmith with good reputation any day of the week.

I've owned and shot PT99s. The downside is that the gun is hit or miss, quality wise. (pun intended) and the PT99 and PT92 are supposedly made on old beretta machinery making them the higher quality Taurus.
The barrels may or may not be centered in the frame at the muzzle. That is why you need the adjustable sights on the PT99. The triggers that I experienced were creepy in single action. Beretta mags will not fit the PT99. the notch is in a different place. You can definitely tell the gun is not as smooth as a Beretta.
The good things: These are very reliable, they handle any ammo well, they are very accurate (arguably more accurate than some Berettas), double action was smooth. I like the frame safety. You used to be able to get MecGar mags for these.
They are not a bad gun, they just are not a Beretta.

I do find both the Taurus 92/99 and Beretta 92 to be too long, too wide and too heavy for a 9mm. I just think there are better choices.

This was my first pistol. Still have it, still shoot the snot out of it. Had a broken locking piece and replaced the rear sight due to losing pins and springs. I have so many rounds down the pipe of this gun... [Awesom][Awesom]

If I were being kind id say its loosely fitted and innacurate.

Its a Taurus. anything you save buying it you'll spend shipping it back to have it fixed

And hope the factory doesn't loose it on you...

Save $200 and get the M9. pt99 is NOT M9. Mags, parts etc are mostly different. I owned a PT92 - one of the worst thing I ever spent my $400 on. Patience goes long way... Last summer there were at least 4-5 M9 92FS for sale on this forum for $400-500.
