What's everyone's experience with the Mako Group?
I suppose I should have asked before I placed an order, but...

Normally, I wouldn't order from a place unless they would charge the credit card when the order shipped.
Mako supposedly had E-lander Mags in stock, so I went ahead and ordered a few. That was almost a month ago and not a peep (but my card has been charged)
I've heard that they may just be really backed up with orders, but I've ordered from 44mag and that order shipped within a week.

I ordered some mags around Christmas and it took 4 weeks to ship. They shorted me two mags. I sent an email and no response, the two mags showed up in a couple of days with no response from Mako. They did charge my CC immediately.

Well I'm glad I decided not to order from Mako.
Last week I sent an e mail asking if they charge CC at time of order or at time of shgip. They responded with an e mail stating that they don't charge until items ship. Sounds like they are liers at least.

Edit: I went back and reread their reply. Leon actually stated that they authorize card at time of order but don't actually charge until ship. So does that put a hold on those funds for a period of time ( I think so). Almost the same as charging as you can't use those funds for other fun.

They do that to make sure your cc is good. I ordered & received 8 of their mags, was charged when they shipped and am very satisfied with their product. One of my friends received several & is also satisfied. Wish I had bought a few more since I lost them all in that ice fishing accident.
Seriously, do your research. Seems some folks with Bushmasters have problems with the mags not dropping free. To be fair, I sold a Bushmaster mag to one guy who's rifle had issues with any mag other than the Bushmaster ones.

Was able to get an update from their Facebook page. Looks like they were even further backed up with the storms in the northeast.
They will give updates on Facebook of what orders they are shipping and it appears that it is more of an issue of them not being able to keep up with the volume of orders, rather than the supply of magazines.

I guess it's hard to judge the service of any internet company given the current climate.
Still wish they didn't charge the credit card until the stuff actually shipped...

Everyone "authorizes" a credit card prior to purchase. Even my local pub does, but that doesn't charge my card until final purchase. It's basically to make sure it's a valid card.

Mako does not actually charge until items ship. That way, if something you ordered goes out of stock before the order is completed, the don't have to mess with credits etc.

Same with Brownells, Midway USA, Sportsman's Warehouse, Amazon etc. etc.
