1911 smiths!!! broken drake national match slide. Fix or RIP?

I have a drake manufacturing national match stamped slide but it was broken right behind the thumb safety cutout. Someone previous tried to fix it and well not the greatest attempt. My question is. Because these slides are rare would it be worth the gunsmithing time to fix this? I am not attached to this but like the history of only 1 year and 800 made

If it was mine Id buy a new slide in the white from fusion or remsport, and toss that one on the "healing shelf".

Paperweight.
With it being welded previously the carbon has probably been drawn out and it is about as strong as cast iron. It will break again in the same place eventually.

List it on eBay with full disclosure, someone will buy it for the rarity factor.
