View Full Version : Moochelle presents Best Picture for the Oscars...
Clearly politics needs to be put into the Lefist Hollywood crap... Luckily I only caught a little of the Oscars (I don't really give a shit anymore who gets recognition for awards because they're all idiotic liberals anyway), but was unfortunate to catch this...
From The Blaze:
First Lady Michelle Obama made a surprise cameo at the Academy Awards Sunday night, joining Jack Nicholson to present the Oscar for best picture. Her message was broadcast on a screen from the White House.
She told the cheering crowd (all subsequent emphasis added):
“Welcome to the White House, everyone. I am so honored to help introduce this year’s nominees for best picture, and to help celebrate the movies that lift our spirits, broaden our minds, and transport us to places we have never imagined…
“These 9 movies took us back in time and all around the world. They made us laugh, they made us weep, and they made us grip our arm rests just a little tighter. They taught us that love can endure against all odds, and transform our lives in the most surprising ways. And they reminded us that we can overcome any obstacle if we dig deep enough and fight hard enough and find the courage to believe in ourselves. These lessons apply to all of us no matter who we are, or what we look like, or who we love…“
Nikki Finke, who is “live snarking (http://www.deadline.com/2013/02/oscars-2013-live-coverage-commentary-nikki-finke-live-snarking/)” the Oscars for Deadline Hollywood, commented:
Oh My God: The Academy actually drafts First Lady Michelle Obama to help present Best Picture from presumably the White House? So unnecessary and inappropriate to inject politics into the Oscars yet again. Hollywood will get pilloried by conservative pundits tomorrow. I don’t understand this very obvious attempt to turn off right-leaning audiences. Clearly the studios only want to sell their movies to half of America.

Think she was in front of a blue screen?

What sickened me was all the servicemen and women in the background behind Michelle Obama who had such looks of rapture on their faces.
They always use military members as props. Are the Obama's on the TV more than any other President in history? I think I see them everyday and that's not by trying.

One of them had such a warm smile on her face... She must have been a liberal. I personally wouldn't be able to stomach any amount of time in that [woman's] presence.

That's why he won and Romney lost. He takes advantage of the media.

I think it's at least as much or more that the media offers support to them....

I didn't watch the Awards either, but what pissed me off was the way those servicemembers were just posed up there in the background like so many potted plants and never acknowledged in any way. Pure window dressing. God, I'm glad I'm retired now.
I think it's at least as much or more that the media offers support to them....
Yep- the media blindly supports (and they're not even subtle about their left-leaning bias) O and his stupid, liberal policies. [Shake]

Then why are you watching it at all?

Know your enemy... [Recon]
That and I'm exposed to 9News and NBC nightly news at home (roommates).

A new report (http://g-a-i.org/gai-report-let-the-creditsroll-an-examination-of-the-tax-film-subsidy-system/) by the Government Accountability Institute has discovered that, according to the California Film Commission, Ben Affleck and George Clooney’s Oscar-winning film, Argo, received $6.21 million in California transferrable film tax credits.Last October, Affleck, a committed and vocal Democrat, told Bill O’Reilly (http://nation.foxnews.com/ben-affleck/2012/10/11/oreilly-confronts-ben-affleck-over-iran-taxes?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+FoxNation+%28Fox+Nation%29) that President Barack Obama’s “major policy goal of changing the tax structure so that the wealthy pay their fair share, to me, is of towering importance.” Argo’s producer, Clooney, has also been a strong Obama supporter, hosting a fundraiser (http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/entertainment/2012/08/george-clooney-lends-support-to-obama-at-fundraiser-in-geneva/) for the president at his Los Angeles home and another in Geneva.
Forty states offer film subsidies totaling $1.51 billion (http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2012/12/01/us/government-incentives.html#film). Film tax credits may be used to defray income and sales taxes incurred during a film or TV production. Some states allow leftover tax credits to be converted into cash that filmmakers can keep—paid for by taxpayers.
The $6.21 million taxpayers shelled out to fund Affleck’s Argo covered 20 percent (http://www.film.ca.gov/res/docs/pdf/Incentives%20Documents/Calif-Chart-of-Accts_Film_Rev%2009.2012.pdf) of the film’s “qualified expenditures,” which includes props, crews, set construction and other costs excluding producers, directors, and actors.

I'm pretty sure my soul just vomited.
Tangent: Thanks to coar15 (and it's a sincere thanks!) I can now no longer think of the First Lady's name without it automatically being just "Moochelle" and then I chuckle everytime
