...and seemed to be in a hurry. Had just come home to pick up the youngest for a routine MD appt. I stretched, grinned, surveyed the empty house all to myself, and went upstairs to grab a jacket so I could tuck in for a horror movie on the couch. I walk into our bedroom, and there on my pillow was...

A brand spankin' new Fender acoustic/electric guitar that I'd been lovingly caressing in Guitar Center the day before, with a "I love you" note attached to it. It's not my b'day, our anniversary, any special occasion. She just had some extra money from her tax return, and wanted to surprise me! Evidently she'd been secretly talking to my brothers for a few weeks, trying to get them to covertly figure out which guitar I wanted. I still play on the old $80 no-name guitar I got 10 years ago from a Media Play store closing. Its been a good guitar, but it has so many buzzes and loose parts that it's getting harder to play. Anyway, we were poking around Guitar Center yesterday, and I fell in love with the Fender after playing it. Decided I was going to save my money for unexpected expenses.

There's just no down side to this woman. I think this is the nicest, most thoughtful gift anybody's ever given me. I've played it so much today my fingers hurt. :-)

Yea I was thinking the worst! I came home one day after dating my wife for about three months and there was a brand new Honda RC51 in the garage and she was sitting on it! She makes sure I get what I want before what she wants or needs! She is a great woman and it sounds like you have the same. Congrats

Yeah mine surprised me last year with a Colt Delta Gold Cup I had been drooling over. The good ones are hard to find, but they are out there!

I recently left something in the bed for my wife. She said it took an hour to air out the bedroom.

Now instead of saving for a guitar, you get to save for a small, ornate shiny object.

This is what I was thinking... Maybe some earrings or something... Chick dig earrings, or is it diamonds? Either way, wait a few weeks until she's forgotten about it, then surprise her with something.
Is it time to start the COAR band? I hear Big Bear is pretty damn good with brass instruments. [Beer]
