I REALLY need to quit chewing, but I'm a bit afraid I'd end up with assault charges inside of a month at work.

I did it a year ago cold turkey and made it 5 days before I started getting tunnel vision and severely agitated. Had to get Niccorette and the price of that will quickly get ya to quit. To bad I relapsed a month ago. It's bad shit.

Good job! Just think of how much money you'll save, how much healthier you'll be, and how good food will taste again.

There's no down side to this.

Hang in there. I quit 4 years ago. It's tough but so worth it. Just think about all the extra cool gun stuff you can buy. Or add to your retirement.

A pack and can a day is a lot man. That's almost $10 A DAY. So now you'll have $300 a month for other cool goodies!

Stick with it man!

It took 4 years before I quit craving but it was worth it. Once you get a couple weeks away from it you won't be able to stand the smell.

Good job! Keep it up. It's gonna suck, but you can do it. If the cravings get too bad, I'll put some of my wife's cooking in a Copenhagen can and let you take a whiff. You'll never be able to look a a can of snuff again!

Qutiing smoking was one of the hardest things I have ever done. But after a while, I felt like a complete bad @$$ for doing it. Congrats man. Stay strong.

Good point. Guys who are able to sack-up and beat the habit definitely score higher on my "respect meter". It really is pretty badass.

Congrats!

Quit years ago after a good friend in his 20's died from gum/mouth cancer. I used to chew a can and a half a day. Don't miss it.

Congrats man, don't go back to it. I was at two cans a day before I thought I might have an issue. It's been 16 years chew free. Good luck

That is all.

I am an experienced chew quitter. Every time I quit, I start thinking a month later "Geez, it was so easy to quit the last time, one little chew won't hurt me." A couple days pass, and I have a couple more. Before I know it I'm chewing 1.5 cans a day. I've done it at least 3 or 4 times over the past few years.

I myself quit last week again. I've got kids now, and I just picture their faces when I think about having a chew and it seems to be working so far.

The secret to not starting again seems to be "Not even once". Don't have one ever again, no matter how innocent it seems.

^^ This ^^

I've been told by alcoholics that tobacco is harder to kick. I've heard (because I don't know anyone) that tobacco is also harder to kick than heroin.

Never again is the key. Because alcohol lowers your inhibitions, social drinking around other smokers was the hardest thing for me. The secret is to just suck it up and avoid those crowds for a while.

Very true . you are the crowd you keep! I was MIA for about four months cause all my buddies chewed. No rodeo or bars in that time and got me on the right path. My buddies understood and didn't bust my balls to bad. It's tuff but it can be done!

^^This, for several years now. I know I should, if not for myself then at least for the family. Just have no interest or desire.

Major Fail.

Congrats and keep it up!

You'll have certain behaviors that trigger wanting a smoke or a pinch...but it does get better with time.

It's been a year and a half since I had a cigarette. Still have cravings, I manage though. I needed help to quit so I took Chantix. In one month I was off the Chantix. It worked for me. Good luck. Like others have said, not even once from there on out.

I quite the cigs about 8 yrs ago. I've had like 10 since, just partying. After I have one I wanna puke. You go so long it just don't taste good!

But the cope!? Can't do it. Tried and tried. It's just to good. But I'm like a can in 2/3 days.

Best of luck!!!
